HL2:DM Trick Video #2 Out!

Here is my second go at the death match source engine.

This one has a few higher jumps than my first one. :cheers:

I am going to run out of bandwidth for this month, so if someone can get me a mirror link I would appreciate it.

I can handle probably another 600 downloads, but my first vid was downloaded 1200 times over a 3 day span.

The Low-Res Version will be available tomorrow afternoon.

It was my first time to ever edit a video, so leave comments or crits.

really good video, i for one had never even thought about using the grav gun in combo with the secondary fire of the pulse gun. the jumps without the grav gun/pulse thing were the coolest. i really liked how you set up your own see-saw thing (or whatever it is) to launch yourself .were those certain spots or can you do that anywhere...?

great song by the way. avril lavigne, right?
 
how do ya jump with the grav. gun i trierd it but i cant ? plz tell me
 
Wow! That energy ball can you get you amazingly high. How do you do it? Is it like a gravity jump, or do you just need to shoot the ball at a flipped desk that's placed on a cabinet?

the odd thing is that i can only jump 1-2 meters high, no matter what i do...the dl is pretty slow btw...

right I have tried a few of these jumps from the earlier video by the same guy, and as far as I can tell the maps have been changed.

Anyone shed any light..?

Well they updated the maps..
And I've seen the vid before.. A long time ago.
 
quite cool and i like the exploitation of HL2 where any distance you fall actually only hurts you by 10 (which is wierd)...Nice vid especially the throwing of the car and being able to catapult yourself across half the map...

Would like to see a vid of this being used in the middle of a dm cos they are a little too frantic to make these practical...still cool...

You just cant reach places that guy was unless you have noclip on. Shame they did that.

The falling damage is a server variable, you can enable realistic falling damage.

Good video, i enjoyed it.
 
All that was basic stuff that has been around for a month or so.
Other than that, nice composition. :)
 
That video is old!! Why did you say "release"????? f*** #$%! I spent precious megabytes of my bandwitch! I'm so angry ahrgh!

Sorry, but that "release" thing was stupid...

And i don't like the video cause it takes advantage if hl2 exploits... and the music sucks in my opinion...

Do you know of some ways to jump higher without using physics?

You can kinda 'rocket' jump by using the ar1 (mp7) grenade. If you aim down, and then jump and fire, you can get on objects that are 144 units high :) .

I think you can do even cooler stuf with the more powerful, regular grenades, but they are powerful enough to kill you...

So why do you like to see a guy taking advantage of hl2 exploits over and over again on a map that has been changed just because of those exploits?
 
interesting, lol, but was there any need for the music, I had to mute it, my brain was aching.

Because its interesting to see how people push the games, doing things that were never intended to be possible. Better than seeing the same old shyt in game play that anyone can do with a little bit of practice.

Sort of like skiing off piste. Your not really supposed to, but its a hell of a lot more fun than doing the same run for the 40th time.

Please say you're kidding about it being great if it is Avril. I have yet to meet someone who somehow likes both Tool and Avril Lavigne. I don't think my feeble brain could handle such a prospect.

Yes, Trick Video #2 was Avril Lavigne - Forgotten.

It looks like someone bumped this at beggining of February and then people started saying this is like 1 month old and have seen it already.

That's because I released it back in December like a week or two after HL2DM came out. The dates on the forum should tell you that, So I am sorry if you wasted your precious bandwidth. :p

The first video looks like a different overwatch because I sent trick video #1 to Cliffe. He then wrote back to me saying it looks like he had some clipping work to do. That's why it looks like a different map and has holes in the windows. I wish he wouldn't have taken them out.

I dont care if the vid is 6 months old. It rocks. But the changing of the maps does suck. Good work man.
 
Cool video, you can jump pretty high with that energy ball :eek: Using the car to jump on the streetlight was pretty cool too, good job.
 
Hey, Cool video...Showed some of the sweet things you can do in Hl2...I only just played Death Match...pretty cool....Whats that map called? And what did they have changed?
