hey, i know what you mean, Ive dabbled in the sound thing and its pretty hard especially when your new. good try man, keep on workin on it if u want, but i doubt you ever get it to sound very good, the firing sound is great though.

alright thanks. i think imma rummage through all the videos again just to see if there were any more times when the pistol was reloaded when there wasnt alot of music or shooting going on.

i got good news, i found a spot in the traptown video where the pistol was reloaded with barely any background noise, so i redid the reload sounds.

i think they turned out really well(lemme know if theres background noise). heres the link.

Excellent. I cleared up the noise on the original one you made:
 
Guys...you're really going a bit overboard here, lol. You're only going to be let down if you're looking forward to the final game so much that you just NEED to play it any way you can.

i just checked out the specailists mp7... its a differant model... its similar but not exactly the same
 
alright guys i did the final volume modifications. i boosted the reload sounds a little more so they should be easier to hear now, though a little background noise was added when i boosted the volume on the sounds. you guys are welcome to try and tone down the background noises if you like, but imma start working on some other things now. enjoy.

First, I had a perfect USP Match shoot sound ripped from the e3 vid a month ago, but somehow it got deleted. But nm I can do it again.

Second, I'll need this USP model in a format that is supported by XSI 3.0 (i have a 3ds importer too, so that would be fine) to improve the animations a bit.
 
Ok, I'm starting my mp7 project. I already downloaded the example pics, but I'll need a texture artist to do the textures (not now, but when I'm done with the geometry).

BTW shouldn't this be in the modelling forum?

I can texture for you (I'm good at Photoshop so it shouldn't be too painful.) Also please make the USP 2 handed! The one handed model is WeIrD feeling. This is a HL2 website.... there are no modeling forums for HL1.... and its not just models its a map, sounds, textures, models, etc.
 
Yeah.... Im gonna learn how to make textures... like how do you know where to put em so they wrap around correctly? I'm gonna find a tutorial!

alright i can get the mp7 sounds for you if you need them.(unless youve already got them)
 
Im using the pistol thx guys...Lotsa diffrent sounds being thrown around...

Maybe you should chuck the final stuff in a zip and bung it on a site.

Well I need a useable format of the model first, then I'll do the makeup.

I really need to find out how textures wrap around models. For example I don't know how the, say, The Sims textures are setup.... they are flat and faces are all stretched out, but when applied to a model, it looks normal. I really need to know where to put things on the texture is what I mean.

Actually, It's ~6-8 hours' work.
The hardest thing will be to import the hands, I still can't find a max -> .3ds/.xsi/etc converter :- ( (all the models in the HL SDK are in .max and .smd) I'll try to get advantage of Milkshape somehow...

Also, the USP match model in one of those formats is needed :- (





Applying textures is done in the modelling environment (XSI), I'll do that, you'll just need to draw them.

I have lots of reference pics (~25), but the HL2 version has lots of differences.

I have 3Ds MAX, I dunno if you do, but if it can convert files I can use it do do that...

I use Softimage|XSI EXP

I think I can solve the conversion problem, dunno what formats does 3ds Max support.
