HL2 is going to be in PC Gameplay.

Wow. I was positive that was going to be a ******** link, pleasantly surprised :)

That's interesting if true. Is HL2 *REALLY* that good.. although the translation is a little shady, I have yet to read through that entire thread

Edit: Ah, I see. XCellere jumped the gun, it just means it's authentic that they have a review in the next issue. Poo.

It's 100 % sure that HL2 is reviewed. The 100% does NOT apply to any mentioned score. Read the article before posting.

I'm a certainly very skeptical of that, but if its true... WOOOOOO!!!

ahem...

However I won't be that excited unless I find out what the highest score a game has ever recieved on that magazine, if there has been alot of games getting 100% with them then it isn't such a big of a deal.

EDIT: Also what err... Fenric said, no game will ever deserve 100% in my opinion as well.

wowee la monkey if its true, jesus christ, but the translation could have been read wrong, could have really said "100% waste of time and human energy"

doubt it though.

i am not a sandwich.

I am Dutch and it does not receive a 100% score, the writer says the review will be in the magazine with 100% certainty!!!

Learn to read it is not that hard, I expect a score of 96% at least but 100% is a bit much :cheese:

And it looks like nothing on the score was actually revealed, turns out it was due to a bad translation.

Too bad.

There is a game out there that deserves a 100% I'm sure of it... I just havnt made it yet.

Also I think the 100% is refering to a definate 100% chance that they are going have a half life 2 review next issue not that they gave the game a 100%

For the love of god!

I am Dutch and it doesn't say that HL2 has received a 100% score!!!

It is 100% sure that HL2 is reviewed in the next article. That is the answer of pc gameplay following a question from a curious person.

so can we please stop this 100% score madness?

It doesn't make sense to give any game a 100% score. To me that means that there is no possible way that the game could be better.

DOH! :( Sorry guys, some guy said it got a 100%. I'll edit it.

Legend of Zelda 64: Oricana (sp) of Time got a perfect 10 from nearly every reviewer (even the hardasses at Famitsu - only perfect 10 ever by them)

I expect the new GC Zelda (not Wind Waker) to get a 10 as well.

The higher the maximum score usually means the more accurate reviewers will make it. A 10/10 in one place may be a 95% in another.

I'm dutch to, from belgium. It's true what RoyaleWithCheese said.It just said that it was 100% for sure to be in the next article.
So HL2 didn't get a 100% rating
But I sure hope there is going to be a magazine that does give it a 100% rating.

RhapSidious: Err wrong. First, Zelda 64 ain't the only game to recieve a full score by Famitsu. For one, Vagrant Story (for PS One) got a full score too. Secondly, Famitsu doesn't give out perfect 10's. Their top score is 40 (yeah weird number. Granted a game can get 10 points in 4 different categories which could mean perfect 10's).

But yeah, 100% is way too much for any game. The Swedish leading paper called Super PLAY gave Zelda 64 a 100-point score (100 was maximum) & their explanation for the score was that Zelda 64 was the best game ever made SO FAR. Nowadays they do not agree with their own score in some ways & have changed their scoring to 1 to 10 wher 10 would mean a "must-have game". So basically now, more than 1 game can get a top score in the same issue.

A little sidetrack :)

Not always true. What could possibly justify a 96% score instead of 95%? Unless they would have an explanation for each % they put up, thingbs would get out of hand quickly. if the 1 to 10 system is explained well then it would be easier to understand which games to get & which to stay away from.

so much waiting for this game has driven people insane :p

For the looks of hl2, it definitly looks like to be worth 100%

Geez... what a piss poor translation, you know, one day the world is going to be destroyed by someone misinterpreting a Babelfish translation.

Advisor: "Mr. President, according to our Babelfish translation the terrorists have already launched a secret nuclear device from inside Russia's borders, it will be here within minutes."

President: "OMG LAUNCH TEH NUCLAAR BOMBS AT THEYRE LOCATION NOW!!1!!"

*World ends*

I think this thread should be a lesson for everyone, wait for a real translation before getting excited.

wooooooooooow a rumour of a rumour of a rumour!!! Lets all shout of joy and dance around. :D :D :D

Oh well Im supposed rumours are the closest we have to actual information about anything at the moment... :) its all good

so funny how bad that translation is, here's what my cousin translated that as...

"okay here we go:'ofcourse it's 100% sure, otherwise we wouldn't put our cover online.
We have played the game all the way through and the review is accomplished: 8 pages with 40 (ofcourse unique, because we made them ourselves) screenshots' that's what it says"

edit:and yes, i know that i'm late in posting "it's not a review giving 100%, it's 100% certain that the game IS reviewed" i just wanted everyone to have a nice coherent translation, curtesy of my kick ass cousin :D

Thats really great , finally we will see a HL2 review :)

To dump my idea here: something is fishy about the 5 october release date of this issue. I buy PCGP every month and on the last page they write the release date for the new magazine, in the september issue it reads: "Next issue available in stores on 30 september." Now, on their site it reads 5 october. So, maybe there is an NDA with VALVe so that they had to delay the magazine.

So very true are you, you should join the dark side :cheese:

as I stated in one of my posts earlier the magazine always comes out the end of the previous month or the first of the next month with no exception.

The reason to delay it with five days has absolutely to do with a NDA with Valve, PCGameplay is well known with Gabe and indeed as I read somewhere have spent a lot of pages on interviews and articles/previews. My "guess" is that the game will release soon after this date. No court case will stop this game.

The 100% and 10/10 rating system is the same thing, a score of 9.7 is the same as 97%.

I think The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time deserved it. It got perfect 10s in all four categories from famitsu, first 10 ever from gamespot, perfect scores from nearly every reviewer. I can't wait to see what Half-Life 2 gets, i'm hoping hl2 knocks zelda out of the number 1 spot from my top 10 list.

I have never seen a 100% score from any magazine, I have however seen 10/10 scores before.
