From the CS:S/Cybercafe press release:

Active Valve Cybercafe Program subscribers receive access and a commercial license to use Valve games in their café (including Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Day of Defeat and Half-Life), access to upcoming new releases in the program such as Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source

I mean, why else would anyone get a cybercafe license for a game unless it had multiplayer, right?

:afro: :bounce: :afro:

But it also seperates Half-Life and Counter-Strike source...but it also doesn't say Team Fortress 2

I don't think it was ever a question of whether HL2 included MP, just what that MP was was the question. (Strangely put together sentence... :hmph: )

EDIT: And it just says "such as Half Life 2 and CS", meaning there were probably others and they just didn't list them.

I hope to god Half-Life 2 has it's own type of multiplayer. I'd like to mess around with the guns and stuff from the single player in multiplayer.

dude cs:source was never going to be the hl2 multiplayer... just like the first hl itll hav its own multiplayer..

You should copyright that name, and begin designing the map ;)

he he he...that's a good idea. It would be a good excuse to wade through the SDK and make a little mini-mod and slap together a few maps in Hammer :naughty:

My only worry would be that with so many server-side physics interactions going on at once, it would lag to hell. They'd have to be serverside, since their positions are actually important. Still, for a LAN game (or maybe SP? Apparently the AI can manipulate physics to its advantage...) it could be a blast :)

EDIT: Consider it (c) ;)

From Gabe at E3 2004, "There have been some questions about Half-Life 2 multiplayer, well, we have converted the most popular online action game, Counter-Strike, to the source engine." Later from a audience member, "Now is this Counter-Strike 2?" Gabe: "We are not calling it Counter-Strike 2." So, to me it sounds like he is implying that CS:S is the HL2 multiplayer.

Hmm.. HL2 is going to have multiplayer. I'm SHOCKED AND AWED!

Sorry...

It could just mean HL2 singleplayer, for all we could know. I know many people who just play SPs in cyber cafes.

They also didn't mention 'Gordon Gropes a Sheep 5' but it doesn't mean it will be HL2's MP. :|
