HL2.netNewsie is a simple Widget that reads hl2.net’s news RSS feed. You can now have instant access to the latest news!

How to use?
It's fairly simple, if you have not already done so you will need to download and install Yahoo! Widget Engine (previously known as Konfabulator) from http://widgets.yahoo.com/

After you've done that, just double click on HL2netNewsie.widget and it will start up.

That's it! It will now read HL2.net's RSS feed automaticlaly and update every few minutes. You can also make it so that it sits on top of other windows. To do so right click on the widgets, click on Preferences and select Top Most in the drop down menu.

To close, simply right click on the widget and click Close.

Any and all comments are appreciated! :D

Meh, I really have no use for that because it's on my Google homepage...

And it's not like we get tons of newsposts.. I don't see why it would be important to have on your desktop.

Maybe if it did all threads. Or threads in General Off-Topic.

Well, that will be in v2. You can select to view latest forums posts or latest news. :D

Will be much more useful in versions to come, very nice though. ;)

Truth..news doesn't come near fast enough.

When teh forum posts appear, then I'm all over it.

I also gave up widgets..I thought they were gonna be so cool, with their CPU load, ram usage, free spaceness..but yeah..clutter on my desktop.

Looks good Retro, I have no use for it though, I go on Halflife2.net everytime I go on the net, by default.
Plus Im not really interested in much news posts anyway.

Yeah, widgets are like little programs that interact with a central one to display some sort of information. They all have different skins as well

Like a widget that tells you the load on your CPU, another for how much RAM your using, etc.

There's something for just about everything out there D:
