HL2 Substance Mod installation?

Anybody used this one yet? It's fun with a lot more action and all but the loading screens are very, very long.

The installation wizard for the mod gives an option that says "copy HL2 cached files". This is supposed to reduce loading time, however the window is not highlighted, so I can't even use the option anyway? Just wondering if there's some other settings I need to look at to get this.

Does this replace HL2 or while it show up on the Steam list as a mod? Also for your question, there is an update from v0.41 to v0.44. Did you update your system?

You might not have the disk space for that. This is assuming that the "copy" operation is unpacking the .gcf files into basic directories, which ends up taking an extra couple of gigs for HL2 alone.

I do have the latest patch for the mod and 30+ gigs of free space on my harddrive, so I don't know. I disabled my windows indexing service a while back to increase my computer speed, could that affect this?
