Half-Life 2: Wars is a straightforward attempt at crafting a Source engine RTS in the HL universe. The mod is in early alpha stages but development is progressing rapidly with the current small team. We're in need of some help, especially for 3d modeling, but level designers and voice actors are also sought. First, a little bit about the mod. It is both singleplayer and multiplayer (although the current public release is only singleplayer), features objective-based gameplay, base-construction, most familiar NPCs from HL2, abilities, rts navigation, fog of war, and everything else you would expect from an RTS.

The newest public build (v0.1) can be downloaded here:

We are currently in need of voice actors, especially female. If you have access to a decent microphone and a "voice for radio" then record some samples and send them our way. See forum for details. If you have other skills that you think we could use, it never hurts to see!

To apply, head to our forum. Also check out ModDB.

W000T. Looks really cool, if i had more time, id help out for sure.
Keep up the great work and good luck.

I have no idea how I didn't hear about this until recently. Looks like it could end up being really awesome, best of luck with it. :E

I get 404'd when i click the link to the forums.

What do you meen by organics? If one were pro at modeling a lemon would that count?

No, we're thinking more along the lines of character models than lemons ;)

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

How would you be considered a intermediate or advanced mapper if you didn't do I/O?

EDIT: I'd love to be in, but I don't have examples of previous work and I probably wouldn't do anything if I didn't force myself :p

I am not going to play this mod if it does not have hi-res lemon models!

Is this mod still going? i downloaded it the other day, and it's fun, but it's ridiculous to control. the main thing that got on my nerves was the special commands, like heal, or build a turret don't work unless the unit is right next to their target, or that the turrets, when built, will fall over because they spawned out of mid-air. Maybe instead of making the turrets fall over to be destroyed, make them explode into pieces like the ones in Ep 2, and make them pivot so that you can turn them. maybe use a soldier to turn them around, but since it isn't even even in full release yet, you've probably got some great stuff going now.

My only gripe is that it doesn't handle that easily. Maybe make it handle like warcraft 3, so that instead of getting closer to the ground when you move the mouse wheel, it will give you a ground view. And I'd like to be able to click on the minimap and have it take me to that spot. Those are the only things, though.

Otherwise, great work, and I hope you continue this mod.

Excellent idea, excellent work. Contact me if i can help with anything in the map department. I can show you a DoD:s map i made with a crude but working mounted machine gun, a firing tank, and radio controlled artillery for reference i guess.

I'm not sure whether it's still active or not... and it's been 4 months, I don't think they need a voice actor any longer.
