My crappy toyota camry finally got busted. the engine started smoking while I was off to home from my work, it made this loud "thump" noise before it started smoking, I thought it was going to explode.

Anyway, I'm planning to get either civic coupe or mini cooper. which one should I lean toward to?

In all honesty though, Honda sucks. Suzuki or Toyota all the way!

A mini as long as it's a proper mini, and not one of those shitty "big" mini's. Those are just retarded.

I hate minis. They're not bad cars, but they've become fashion statements, and that's the last thing a car should be.

big mini? any pictures?

I actually almost bought Civic coupe yesterday, but they only had damn manuals...

what the hell are you babbling about? Honda's don't suck at all.

But it depends what your price range is. If you're looking to buy a brand new car, and your price range is let's say: $25,000 - $30,000 then get a Subaru Impreza, those are nice ass cars.

Just stay away from used North American cars like chevrolet cavaliers and pontiac sunfires, dodge/chrysler neons, etc..

if you're buying a coupe it should be manual ..4 cylinder automatic cars are usually gutless; you need a manual transmission

oh and Suzuki and Honda comparable? honda is leaps and bounds ahead of Suzuki who make mediocre vehicles at best ..toyota is a good comparison to Honda but not suzuki

I'm not getting any other cars. My price range is between 16,000 - 23,000 maximum.

I'm only interested in getting either civic coupe or mini cooper.

dont bother getting the mini if you're getting automatic transmission ..it's a waste ..also the mini cost $7000 - $10,000 more than the civic

I assume you want our opinions so heres mine:

Mini Coupers are gay unless you have money to make them ballsy. And don't get an auto, they are boring to drive.

wait to you get around 100,000 km ..it's all downhill from there ...and no I'm not converting to imperial, get with the times

Mazda
Mazda
Mazda
And my car has 175k miles on it Stern...it's not so bad!

Volkswagen GTI or MazdaSPEED 3, that's what it should come down to, leaning toward the SPEED 3 though. That's if you want to use your budget unsparingly in sacrifice for performance and a well off street-peen! From all stock!

Mine is flawless; handles well, great acceleration, good gas mileage.

in general, they're not that good of cars - most of my friends have sunfires and cavaliers and they're constantly taking them to the garage.

I figure Toyota makes the best quality cars. Fleets of cabs are mostly Toyota, and those cars must go through a lot of wear. Also, there is a nylon plant in my town. One of the chemical engineers said that there is no way they could produce seatbelts for Toyota because their quality control specs are impossible to meet.

Like I said, I'm not getting any other cars. I'm tired of driving toyoya. I've had bad experience with their cars.

It's gonna be either civic coupe or mini couper.

I don't see why newer version sucks.

Its huge (somewhat undermining the point of a mini [which technically it isn't, its a MINI]), its German (not usually a bad thing, but minis are British damn it. Its like having a Spitfire made by meschersmitt), its ugly (because its a huge, miss shapen parody of a mini) and its trading on the name of a car that BMW killed.

Old Minis are damn sexy.

Mini's are for bitches (the BMW one that is).

Go German or Japanese.

the germans and japanese manufacture such amazing, durable and reliable cars..

but if you put all of them in the world into a demolition derby to the death vs Russian and American cars they'd go down to the yank-tanks and ladas at worst on sheer numbers :p

Except all the American cars would break a week after

While I agree that American cars are crap, I like to think that Chevrolet and Ford know at least a thing or two about manufacturing trucks.

Cars? Not so much.

But I'd still take a Toyota Tundra or Nissan Titan over a F150, I guess.

I would say get the civic. But I hate coupes anyway (I only like sedan cars). If you want to race with it make sure it's a 5 speed though

I drive a honda accord sedan (auto) and it's great, almost 230k miles on it but still runs very well.

The only american cars that i love are Chevrolet Camaros (80's) and Pontiac Trans Ams (80's)..they looked so freaking bad ass.

Get an RX8! :O

No, **** the rotaries. Reciporicating piston imo.

Anyway, if you buy a Civic over a Mini I'm going to make fun of you endlessly. Personally, I can't stand Japanese cars. Sure, they're great cars, but they have an extreme lack of personality which people make up for by putting huge wings and body kits on. RX7s, Skylines, and Supras are the exception here. Germans make good shit though.

But I do drive a beater 1991 Toyota Camry with 130,000 on the clock and still going strong when I don't want to drive my Mustang.

old 80's trans ams and camaros ftw man...honestly how bad ass is this:
