Hooked to goddamn wow...

That is stupid, no guy would say that!

I played the trial with a few hl2.netters and it was good times. The complexity of the game is actually what appeals most to me, but, for one, I cant afford a monthly fee at the moment, and I dont necessarily want all my free time taken up by it.

But maybe once I get a job...

$10,000 US dollars?

Man... I hate it when games transfer to real life currency like that. It's so retarded.

I played EVE with the goons from SA for a while which is pretty much the most fun I ever got out of the game. Hilarious people, but EVE takes way to much ****ing time to play seriously so I stopped playing.

EVE is all about the metagame. I guess it would be tonnes of fun just dicking around with friends...

That video makes me want to play again.

I got as far as mining an asteroid in EVE and thought "what's the ****ing point?" Just seemed like too much effort, too little reward in the larger scheme of things. If WoW taught me one thing, it's that I hate being less powerful than 90% of people in a game despite my skill level. When I play a shooter for instance, I play it to win, not just for fun. That's my multiplayer mentality. But when you go into an MMO and put in all your dues, learn your class, get to max level and all that shit, it just turns into a massive meta-game of "who grinds wins" and all element of skill is thrown out the window. Like, **** it, I'm already paying for this shit, why make it into a job?

Only noobs get addicted to wow, I only play it when one of my mates is on, we quest around for a bit, do the odd the odd instance and its fun, because we just chat all the time and get into funny situations, like trying to avoid 5 ?? hordes or whatever lol. Tried playing it myself and it was so boring, wasnt the same. Only fun when you are playing it with people you know on a ts, and even then I have to come off after a few hours.

Good game to waste some time on, but I just find it laughable that people get addicted to it, especially my age or above.

Is that the first thing you did? Because that is the worst possible first thing you could do in the game. Boring as ****. Best to do a few missions, get a ship going, and head straight to 0.0 space for PvP. Gotta join a corporation though or you're ****ed, but thats easy enough to do, and if the goons taught me anything having the better ship doesn't mean "lol automatic win".

I got to lvl 52 on my belf main in ashzara or whatever its called killing some deer things before I was like "why the **** am I still playing?".

but that was before the apparent update that made Azeroth leveling a bit easier, I spent most of the game thinking too myself "outland will be awesome, just stick this shit end of the game".

WoW was fun sometimes, don't get me wrong, when its fun its so ****ing awesome, playing with friends and ****ing about, but the vast majority of the time its just a brain numbing chore.

As for EvE, it looks sexy and it plays okay, but I couldn't justify paying up for it, because I wasn't in any fleet or anything and TBH skill grinding up to a level I could get into a decent fleet was bake, and I had nothing else to do while skills were training, it was pretty yawn, and because of the total lack of safety nets I couldn't have any fun going where I shouldn't be and getting up to no good like that.
