How do black headcrabs damage Alyx?

I always wondered what happens when black headcrabs attack Alyx. Do they deal "normal damage", does the poison actually affect her?

I've never seen them in the same place as I've had her on my team so I cannot comment.

I always use her to take black headcrab damage in lowlife when I find one. And she doesn't seem to care about being attacked by them so... well... I use her all the time.

I know black head crabs effect combine NPCs, It only took 1 pistol shot to kill one after a head crab attacked him.

Poison does not affect Barney and Alyx.

They just act like regular headcrabs to them. It was specifically coded that way.

There is no racist joke in here. Those kinds of headcrabs are called black or poison headcrabs. I usually call them black, I don't see any problem. Why do people see racist jokes everywhere?

A better question would how can they possibly not kill her when she doesn't have the HEV suit. My immersion always takes a serious hit when I see Alyx fighting these things.

Don't forget - Alyx has uber fast health regernating, and so do your main character allies. Combine = Not regernating health = Headcrab effect = Fail

Regen doesn't matter, alyx, barney and grigori are immune to the poison.

And good they are. I would sacrifice the realism for the annying GAMEOVER every time they got bit and left at 1 percent then caught a stray shot and die lol

Well basically Iron cube, they're immune to everything, nearly. Only some parts where Alyx, Barney etc. are damaged and not recovering in the scene.

the drug crabs be the l33t crabs...Expecially when they shriek wen they jump...and they go super high and fast...plus that added sound effect when they do it...phsycotic man:afro:

I'll debeak those and make them domesticated...and sellthem as pets...and give a free one to alyx and barney...yes kliner can have one too
