get that thing at the bottom right that says your fps and your ping and what not? I've gotten it to pop up on Cs:s but i dont know how i did it, i wanna know how to put it up and take it off... but me dont know! and does source have its own screen recording?

This is just from my memory, so I'm not sure if these are the exact commands, but I'm almost certain that they are.
net_graph (possible options are 0, 1, 2 and 3) to get a graph in one of the corners (which displays how much information is being sent and received, but also displays your current fps).
You could also use "cl_showfps 1" if you only want to know your current fps.

well i never typed anything... it just poped up im guessing if i maybe hit a button acidentally or something... my friend also made it come up one time while play DOD:S.... i was like "wtf did you do?" hes like " i dont know... ?"

Didn't read your post carefully, I thought you wanted to enable it...
Anyway, try typing "net_graph 0" and "cl_showfps 0" in your console and see if it disappears.

alright I'll give that a shot. ... also DOES source have screen recording built in... just kinda seems like it would be a feature it would have...

You can record demos...

"record demo1" demo1 can be anything
"stop"
"playdemo demo1"

You can playback the demo and record it to .avi with screen capture tools like Fraps.

The best way to record video from Source is to record a demo as you play. Then when you play back the demo there is a command to export each frame as a picture. Then load them into a Video program and export as an AVI or whatever. link

FRAPs is the easy way, no mess. But not as good for keeping the quality.

The trial version is free, but has a few limitations (your recorded videos can only go up to a certain size, limited recording-time, your video will be watermarked, and probably a couple of other limitations).
