How does everyone feel about November?

I don't want it in November...I lose money that way.
I'm still hoping for a October release (it is still possible you know).

it won't be released in september. no way..
but hopefully in october. wouldn't it suck, if the game goes gold in sept. but it will be released a fully month after it? only to make it available world-wide at the same day (i mean, that had been discussed). let's see how vivendi will handle it.

3. There needs to be a massive amount of duplication done for a game this huge.
4. That will take at least a month (including shipping)
5. The very earliest the game will hit retail is mid October

it's a huge game, of course. but still, why should it take at least a month?? other big games also didn't take so much time from going gold 'til getting released.

NeverWinter Nights took less about 7 business days to go from gold to release, people assuming that duplication takes months it can take a great deal less time if you have a big run and are willing to pay for it.

If they stick to the worldwide release plan however we may have the situation of the game being ready in the USA and having to wait a few weeks for european and asian distribution issues. Financially a worldwide release can make sense if you believe that a simultaneuos release prevents piracy, but my guess is that warez versions will be available as soon as the duplicating company has the first gold copy.

One can only hope, but it has not been said that you need to be connected online if you have a cd and valid cd key.

Hey, Nov 25 is my birthday too Coolpot. I went to EB today, to upgrade my preorder from regular to collector's edition, and the guy there was absolutely sure they would have it on Nov 15. But, Gabe Newell did tell us no dates... What if he is lying? Hiding something? The truth is out there...

Well milo I don't know why RS doesnt play well on your machine. I'm only running a 2400+, 1024mb RAM, 9000 Radeon and ADSL and it runs like a dream, hardly any bugs at all.
