Well, they have said so. But I think if I can play it without lag (Particle Benchmark had some 30 fps stuff usually) I'll look around, search for some secrets and so.

Well if you whizz through it with god mode probably a few hours, but if you savour every moment, about 7.

Expansive environments to explore...that was the buzz I heard from Valve...So I am going to explore this 'White forest' as much as I can.
I thought it was 8-10 hours of gameplay? Could have been 6-8...
Then again, Heavenly sword just came out on the ps3 and it is a full game that is only 6 hours long...So..With Portal as an extension of the episode 2 story (hopefully!) we will get between 10-12 hours of fun (the first time through ) !

I played Episode 1 the first time all in one go. I completed it after 3 hours. Without even leaving the game I started it again. Then finished it again. Another 3 hours.
Next day, with commentary and generally trying new things. 4 hours.

The fact I got 10 hours play in 2 days means I don't see the fuss about the length of the game...
Paying 26 quid for 3 in theory limitless games bothers me not.

My estimate would also be 6-8. They say it's somewhat longer than Ep1, which took me about 5 hours on the first playthrough.

I have seen a speedrun of Half life 2 completed in 3 hours...But at that rate you can't really take much in...

It probably won't take much longer than Ep1..maybe 1 or 2 more hours. I finished Ep1 in one sitting (yeah I'm a half life fanatic)..I'll probably do the same with Ep2..take a break, go play Portals and TF2

Well, I'll be also sure to do some mega-super stunts with the new car, if Alyx GTFO's sometime.

Commentary basically doubles playing time doesn't it? So that would make a total of almost 15 hours or so, and since Portal is getting it too, well... that's pretty awesome.

It would be good if we got to explore Alyx's crevice. You could loose a few hours messing around with her :smoking:
