How to edit weapons, characters, smuzzle flashes?

Sorry the subject sounds idiotic but it's 0300 and I didn't know how to word it.

I was in the Marine Corps so I wanted to change the CT's "uniforms" to the current desert cammi's we wear and change some weapons (like the M4 Carbine) to the M16A2. Also, muzzle flashes, bullets, and bullet fire sounds I'd like to change.

If anyone who is experienced in this could point me in the right directiona and what I'd have to edit I'd appreciate it.

Its more difficult than you think, but basically, the easiest thing to do is wait for that content to appear on the net, no doubt it wont take long, and then you'll simply be able to 'plug in' all the customised stuff you can possibly download
