Yeah, php code is meant to be converted to html by the server, but the file has no extension, so people can see the code before it has been converted. This is bad for whoever made the site, because all their comments, and the site's workings can be seen :/

Luckily for me i can understand php :p

Edit - Woah, all the files on their site can be downloaded - looks like the server has uninstalled php. This is really not good for Valve - things can be found something i'm sure they wouldn't want found :O
 
You can download the HL2 demo there! That's right you heard me, the HL2 DEMO!

and no the site can not be 'destroyed' any easier by having access to this PHP file, just calm down and wait for the sysadm to fix the php server.

Nothing special about half life 2 i think.... the site was the only thing in danger - not the game

(and now the site is safe :E )

Maybe thier uploading new HL2 info and a release date, and thier doing the same with dod sie by adding dod:s info.(we can all only hope this is true)
 
Their source code for the site wouldnt have been for download... Wait a tick... check what you peeps downloaded... maybe its part of secret 2 lol
 
I bet they are prepping for source port info / possibly mp info / and COLLECTORS EDITION info :D :D :D :D :D

While there may be something wrong with the web site, we can be reasonably sure that the game itself is unaffected - I would think that the code has been backed up repeatedly both at Valve and at some remote location.
 
Anyway whats very important on their site to be so special ?

I don't think they are preparing new info, I think they just screwed up.

WHy would updating the site leave the raw php available for download?

Unless, of course, the answer is both: they were updating the site and at the same time screwed up so we could download the php code.

However I am not really going to even pay much attention to this, unless I see proof of something interesting going on.
 
It looks like the server was messed up, and that's why valve and halflife2.com went wrong.
 
has anyone dled it?
Could be the next riddle :p
