Strange. I'd be cautious in case it's a virus or trojan or something nasty. Otherwise it could be another one of Valves mind games :cool:

Code for the website if you ask me, it mentions banners and navbars..
 
Seems like there's something wrong with the server. It's just the raw PHP file.
 
Open it in an NFO viewer. There's a lot of information there, though I can't make much sense of it. A few URLs mixed in. It seems to just be site information, nothing more. We need someone with a little more expertise to look at it.
 
valves servers are infected and the virus deleted all half-life 2 data !!!
 
Come on people get real. Probably just some upload error somewhere. there is nothing wrong, if you donwload the file and add .html behind you'll see that everything is as it's supposed to be.

No virus whatsoever.
 
oh no, another delay expected....half-life 2.com has been hacked so has valve.

it not a virus, its the raw PHP code.

The PHP file *should* be interpreted by the webserver, and deliver HTML, however it looks like a setting has been mistakenly set on the server that a .php extension shouldnt be parsed, but to set as a download instead.

The is nothing damaging in the file, however it does contain some of the 'source code' for the dynamic webpage, which isnt really a good thing from valves point of view.
 
OK then, I wasnt sure if it was a virus or not just thoughy better to be safe than sorry and mention it here anyway. Ignore previous post.

This really isnt good news for valve however, and someone should tell valve to pull the plug on the sites while the problem is fixed.

Its REALLY not a good idea to be sending the raw PHP code out..
 
considering they haven't updated the valve site in forever, and the hl2 site never, i won't be surprised if this isn't on their top of thie things to do list
 
There is either a problem with the site..or they finally decided to update it...but if they decided to update it...why would it be down like this??

No, this is not a site update. Look at all the other sites on the server having the same problem. You people get excited to easily...
 
IF they are updating it might be for something like new binks, as its unlikely its for a, dare i say it, gold date.
