My friend just wrote this:
R= reporter
C=chairmen
one week earlier
C-"im annoucing today to the entire world. there is no half life 2. thank you for your time"
r-"reports have been growing about the video game, half life 2, being the cause of many suicides in the white community. i'm here live with the chairman of Sierra entertainment to tell us more on the matter. sir what are you feelings about the matter? people are blaming your game for their child's death. do you feel you are responsible?
C-" let me first say that i am truely sorry for those who lost someone and let me go on record saying there is no half life 2. there never was a half life 2. you see we thought it would be funny to make up the game so all the half life fans would be anxious and excited then we tell them there is no such game and watch them cry..., but we did not think it would go this far.
R-" why would you and your company do such a thing?"
C-" well we figured some of the people would figure it out that there was no game. we kept pushing off the release date.
R-" but why would you play such a cruel joke on your fans?"
C-".................i dont no"
R-"sir tell us about counterstrike source"
C-" hehehe well thats basically counterstrike from the original half life. we just modified it and told every one that half life 2 runs it. these teens these days would believe anything i tell them. why they would even believe me if i said half life 3 is in production. we even have some of our staffs posed as teens in the game and told them to say 'HALF LIFE 2 ROCKS! over and over again and teens agreed, never questioning why they call themselves HLemploy33. we had many slips that people could have caught, but their attention is so focus on the release date of a game that never actually existed. sure i feel a bit guilty for lying to them but like them i like to play games to. it's ashame those who died will never see half life 3....
R-"are you saying there is going to be a life life 3?"
C-(pauses.... stares into the camera)".......yes, yes there is...."
