I am a noob...that needs some help...

Im currently making a cs:source map of my room...kinda like de_rats. Anyways, my question is...source has some good models like a flat screen computer monitor...put its too small...i need to make it ALOT larger...is there a way i can make the model larger in hammer world editor? or am i going to have to like import it to 3dsmax...and make it larger there? btw...im not sure what 3d program to use...i only said 3dsmax cuz i saw it somewheres :eek: so...help a nub out...(things to make larger aswell...mouse...keyboard?...lol)
 
from what im hearing this is a mapping issue, has nothign to do with models. you just need to map your things bigger. in hammer just create your stuff bigger then you did. thats sounding like the issue, maybe i just read your post wrong
 
you'll need to import it into a 3D program (XSI mod tool is easiest and free) then change it, export, and you are done. :)
 
decompile the model with canons mdl decompiler. then recompile it with the qc file you get but where it says scale change that to something high like 30 maybe. then compile it > if you dont know how to compile it there is a good tutorial on the half life 2 wiki in your source sdk menu. then see how it is. if its no good delete the mdl file and try again. if your not getting the texture on the model when you recompile then grab the texture with gcfscape and convert it to bmp and then import that along with the decompiled reference model into xsi. if it does show the texture then you dont need to worry about modeling programs but xsi is the best. also every model that you change the size of and recompile will be a new model so whoever plays the map will have to download all the models at the beggining. i would suggest using brushes and custom textures to make lots of the stuff in the room.

i can access the mdl from mdl view in sdk tools..but i cant access the mdl from canons mdl decompiler...so i cant select the mdl. the model is located in props\cs_office. the props folder doesnt even appear in canons mdl decompiler when i go to browse...

This is really frustrating...my god...why cant any of these models be found in the valve foldeR?! File search cant even find these damn mdl files...ahhh! And whats with this gay ass window you have to open for browsing a mdl file...why cant it be a normal browse window so you can actually ****ing locate the file instead of it saying shit like [ROOT]...too bad i dunno where the hell the ROOT is!...cuz my computer cant find it
