HALO 2 REVIEWS ARE IN:

GAMESPY: 5/5 STARS
IGN: 9.8/10 ~10.0 on gameplay
GAMESPOT: 9.4/10 ~10.0 on gameplay

I'm hyped after seeing a screenshot of a HUGE map w/ vehicles, rockets, flying things and over 32 ppl. There goes te stash for my x800 pro :dork:

Well the GS review says the story is kinda ****ed up overall, plus a hell lot in the end.
 
already got my copy preordered at game. i'll be playing it on thursday as soon as its out. i can imagine it'll get put on hold if i've not completed it by tuesday though :)

Wow! I'm surprised that nobody's come in here and accused the reviews of being biased/containing favoritism/stupid/innacurate/exaggerated or any of that crap!

Any way, I always intended to buy this game. More reason to do so now.

Yes, it is on the Xbox with its 1280 by 960 resolution along with 16x/8x AA/AF...

Anyways, hyped more about this game more than ever even though I know its ending. ;(

I'm fairly certain that the screenshot is in-game.

I think both games will rock, and also so will Metroid Prime 2 (which nobody has mentioned). November is a great month for FPSs.
 
forget HL2 is the greatest game of all time... I'd rather have a rig that will indefinitely play HL2 for eternity and I will neevr have to upgrade b/c all other games will suck
 
I thought this was a Half Life 2 forum... never knew it was Halo, too.
 
halo 2 is cool, played it for about 10 hours a few days ago. multiplayer is the only thing that is holding it together, otherwise its not that much different then the first but little better graphics, and 2 guns at once. but even with the little changes, its the best xbox game out. hl2 will dominate though i think

Halo 2 has up to 480p or 640 by 480 resolution...
 
That screenshot really isn't anything impressive IMO. The thing is, Half-life 2 will be the best game ever made. Halo 2 will not be. Nuff said really.

Oh ok. I thought it had 720p. They should really print a small message at the bottom of non-ingame screenshots to avoid giving people the wrong idea.
 
H2 would suffer 20% sales losses if your wish was their commmand.
 
Fortunately, Halo 2 will look better on a TV than it does in that screenshot (infact Halo on my tv looks better than that screenshot)

AA/AF and high res etc are only needed on monitors. A low res looks absolutely fine on a tv.

Which is exactly why I'm hooking up my PC to my TV when HL2 comes out....:D
 
If I had low specs I would use a TV.

But my 9800 pro gets the job done quite nicely at high settings @1024 :D

Depends on the game really.

imo GTA looks far better on the XBox, when played on a big tv, than on a monitor with settings/res maxed. The same goes for titles like Prince of Persia and Halo etc.

Of course, some game really do look sweet on a montior - but not all.
 
I don't really like how Halo 2 looks... Imo the graphics suck. The gameplay in Halo was fun for awhile, but it's not a 10 nor a 9, more of a 7.5 or 8 to me. Vice city scored a 7 on my charts, doubt SA would get better than 7.5 from me...
 
CRT is a wholly superior display method then TV.

NTSC is aproxamatly 480x440, with very fuzzy and innacurate pixels. This is wh thers no need for antialiasing; the Level Of Detail completely trashsed. CRT has an immensly superior LOD. There are proper VGA adaptors for XBox that will take the HDTV signal and convert it straight to CRT resolutions. On these, the XBox looks so much better its amazing. You do get more jaggies, but the clarity of vision is well worth the trade.

For the love of christ would the mods start BANNING assholes that spam about halo...

I mean ffs... theres more Halo threads (joke or otherwise) in the HALF LIFE 2 discussion area than there is on the top 5 halo fansites for christ sake.
 
I wouldn't buy a current gen console. I'm personally buying a next gen console, I'll wait until reviews are out and make my choice from there.
