My parrot got out of the house and flew away. My whole family was very close to her, as with my previous parrot, which was very painful when she died.

I was called downstairs and told that she got out. My brothers and I were in our back yard looking for her. Then I got on my bike and searched around, and I saw her in the sky, whistling. I swear to god I had a heart attack or something, my chest felt like it was being pressed, and I started biking through yards/fields trying to keep up with her, but with all the trees she just got away. It was too much shock for me to register what was actually happening, and when I got home it broke loose and I cried a whole lot. I'm a very senstive person, especially toward our pets. Kind of a coincedense too, our previous bird died 4 years ago one day ago, it was a Wednesday like today, second day of school too.

I'm extremely sad, I can hardly type, but I'm trying to keep a postitive attitude. Trying to just zone it out with other things.

I don't know why I'm making a thread but I feel I need to just talk.

I'll never forget seeing her in the sky, for the last time. I am really sad ;( , crying right now. I was just spending time with her earlier today, just on the couch, scratching her neck, kissing her, etc.

...

My younger sister is getting home soon. If I hear her crying I'm going to lose it again.

Polly want a cracker?

No, Polly wants FREEDOM!

Sorry to hear about that :(

(And sorry thats what I first thought when I saw the thread)

I just can't get that last sight of her out of my mind. I was so desperate. I wish I could go back and give it my ****ing all to keep following her.

Sorry to hear that Veg. Maybe she'll come back. Same thing happened with my uncle's parrot. Came back after about a day.

Yeah we're putting a thing in the paper.

I'm not really trying to put hope into it though, just trying to get over it.

At least I don't have to bury her like my last parrot.

I totally sympathise with you mate, losing a pet you love means so much, they become very close and part of the family without a doubt. It's unfortunate she escaped, these things just happens as a result of a chain of unlucky events, biking to keep up with her must have been a very scary thing to do, but i'm sure you did your best. Is there no possible way she will stay local or be located easily? Leave descriptions at local vets incase she is found, and put up posters incase she is spotted?

I hope there is something you can do.

:(

Sorry to hear about your parrot. I hope you'll see her again.

Aw, sowwy 2 heer about you're pet birdy :(. Hope you feel better. :):)

Come back Mr. Parrot! A pirates life is free... of happiness, when his parrot is gone.

Sorry your parrot is gone Vegeta :(

I remember when my Dog got out..or got taken to the shelter..whatever. I was so sad, he was the only thing that I wanted to keep with me forever..supposed to be the animal I got my first apartment/house with. :(

All the luck to ya Veggie. <3

Sorry Veggie, losing a pet's always tough. I hope you're eventually able to find her.

;(

Yeah. I lost my cat for a few days and was in a terrible place until a neighbor found her. I really hope your parrot comes back. It sucks to lose a pet.

sorry to hear about your loss veg, here's hoping it comes back.

my brother shot a bird in the head with his airsoft rifle and killed it.

Same here; Veg that's tough...

Good luck on getting through it, may your family get over it soon.
But hopefully you find her... ;(

Damn, I'm really sorry about your parrot. I can remember what it felt like when my pet lorrikeet got away, so I really hope you can find her.

Any update on the parrot Veggies? Hopefully it'll come back or be found and returned.

Heh, I've been busy stalking for a while now....

But now I'm back.

Poor birdie... poor Veggies.

I love birds, and i hope yours comes back.

(Is it reasonable to expect more positive responses to a 'Pet died/is lost' thread than a 'help, my love life sucks?' thread?)

Sorry to hear that!

Always hard losing a close pet one way or the other (not sure which is easier, I had a dog that I had to bury and one that ran away...Both hard times).

Hopefully she returns!

i disagree with birds being kept in cages. FLY FREE PARROT!! FLY!!

its always hard to lose a pet, but look on the bright side. your parrot has escaped years of confinement and is now having the time of its life :)

I know how you feel, I lose birds alot, but more to the Grim Reaper than them escaping.

Just the other day we found 3 baby one-day old cockateils (The same species as your parrot) abandoned in one of our nesting boxes. The first one died to disease, the second one got under the blanket it was sleeping on and suffered burns from the electric heater underneath.

The third one is going on strong though, it's strange that i've seen alot of animals die and I still cry a bit. :<

I do have a response to this, but I'm not sure how Vegeta would feel after reading it.

That happened with a ringnecked parrot we have now, he escaped one day and we just left a cage in the backyard with the door open and food inside and he came back soon after.

Veggies, if you plan on doing that you'll have to keep a 24/7 eye on it to prevent pigeons to invade. lol.

If you havin' parrot problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but a bird aint one...

/canned response.

Oh wait, this threads different. Damn sorry to hear man, losing a pet sucketh le' major. But take solace knowing that the bird is free... Somewhat of a free bird if you will.

By Joe, I'm inspired! I think I'll write a song!

...oh ****beans

Veggies? Wtf?

Anyway sorry to hear about your loss, losing a pet is hard man I know

Who rides a bike to chase a bird? Obviously the bird is going to pwn you in speed.

Sorry to hear about your pet.

More numbers to swell my evil army though. Soon, the day will come.

Sorry to hear this man. Losing a pet sucks :(

My dog ran away once (chased a cat). I was inside and heard he had done a runner so i just threw some jeans on and chased after him. It was like midnight so it was dark, but that was kinda a blessing cause he may have got run over if it was during the day :( Anyway, found him lying on some grass down some housing estate. I called him but he wouldnt move until i got to him, he was scared :( poor thing. It would have killed me if we lost him though :(

I've heard of parrots comming home after they have escaped. Leave her cage out and she may come back by herself.

Good luck. <3
