I can't believe this shit

With a smirk too, I'm telling you, he was enjoying himself. :/

oh come on, have you ever heard of speech techniques? every politician use them

and to me this is proof that tensions will not easy even if he supposed to say like tousands times that he loves da jewbs and people of all countryes blablabla but at the end it was like a fanboys debate, allways trying to "get the upper hand"

and is funny to watch him allways smiling, but you should see him when he makes his speechs in his country

this really dont seem to "soft" tension,it just proves how stupid people are

Speech techniques don't mean much when you don't have anything intelligent to say. To admit that this guy is extremely smart is not the same as saying you support him, relax.

This was a very important event and you could learn a lot from listening to him. You are absolutely right that that event was proof tensions won't ease anytime soon because many of the things he was criticized for, such as supporting terrorism or wanting a nuclear program, he could point his finger right back at us and our support of Israel. Like you said, he's a politician. He needs support in his country to get elected. Bush was his best buddy in 2005 since Bush pretty much sealed the election for him by telling the Iranian people not to vote for him. So if you expected something non-political I'm not suprised you are disappointed. But he is saying exactly what the Iranian people, and most of the middle east for that matter, want him to say.

I wasnt expecting anything

I knew nothing would change,at least he say that they dont want war and dont hate the jewbs,so he dont look like the bad dude

but I knew nothing relevant was gonna happen, but he mentioned that he is willing to meet whit bush isnt? thats something that worth seeing

bet ya that in the iranian media they will show this as that he got just insults and he was praysing the place and all that jaz

One word....

anti-climatical.

This guy just dodged and dodged and dodged. He got his podium and simply made the LEAST of it.

One thing that WAS climatical were the demonstrators in FAVOR of him: http://lh5.google.com/gene.ostrovsky/RvhX709FJWI/AAAAAAAAAjE/7mY-TKG9aMo/IMG_0095.JPG?imgmax=144

By the way: A nice thing to note is that the people who clapped were a group of useful idiots -- about 20 or 30 who sat near the camera. The standard Kaffiyeh wearing idiots with "Lan Nasmat"(we will not be silent) T-shirts, etc. One student said:
I was in the audience today, and it is completely unfair to characterize the students in the audience as all having clapped for him. We didn’t. The applause you heard was from about 20-30 students (in the back, nearest to the cameras) out of an audience of over 600. Rest assured that 99.9% of Columbia students are absolutely disgusted by this thug, and we’re glad he made himself look even more insane. It’s important for people to understand how truly nuts he is.
It does sound like a bit more than 20 to 30. Well, still, the majority didn't applaud him.

I think I counted twice that they clapped. From what I recall they clapped when he said we shouldn't support Israel over Palestine and then when he said how rude it was of the dean to start off the way he did. You make it sound like they clapped throughout his entire speech, they didn't. And they did have a point.

There are no homosexuals in Iran.

They are all swinging from cranes :O

The link to the video is broken, at least to me.

Weird, works for me. Does the c-span page actually open? If yes but you can't play the video then you don't have real player. I know real player is the devil's child so I won't blame you for not wanting to install it on your computer, do what I did, install it at work :p.

What nonsense. They hang out a lot of places... :-/
But it's not just homosexuals who are hung from cranes. First of all, cranes are used when it's only one person who's hung apparently. When it's more they just line 'em up on a platform. And it's not just gays, it's "adulterers", too, adult or minor. If you're a female and you defend yourself from someone trying to rape you, you will be sentenced to death. If you allow yourself to be raped, then you are "unclean" and for that you will also be killed by the state.

Donde esta la justicia?

An interesting, overlooked part of his visit to New York -
Goldwasser said she was not afraid to present the president with her question, and asked him, “Hello, my name is Karnit, the wife of Ehud Goldwasser, the soldier who has been held captive for over a year. Since you are the man that is behind the kidnapping due to the aid you grant Hizbullah, why don’t you allow the Red Cross to visit the two soldiers?” she asked.

The president ignored the question.

No speeches about how we should respect EVERYONE? Ahmi has certainly changed from that nice man sitting at the podium dodging questions.
