I have tried EVERYTHING

redownloaded every file...
reinstalled steam... twice
deleted the valve registry files...
uninstalled and reinstalled SP2
changed videocard drivers
tried booting the game in dxlevel 70 and 80
my good freind came over and gave me his working GCF files
I tried copying his steam files over my steam installation
I have completely finished downloading HL:S and HL2, NEITHER work, HL2 crashes at the white text on black background my freind said you are supposed to hear the GMAN speaking... I never hear a word from him...

and HL:S doesnt load to the menu.... just crashes....

I am so angry and this problem......

Will I EVER get to play my own god damned copy of my own god damned game with I payed with my own god damned money?!

Steams gay and tells you its finished downloading the games when it hasnt, right click steam icon in task bar and go to monitor, it might still be downloading.

ive tried everything and mine just keeps saying this game is currently not available its so ****ing annoying

try closing steam, deleting your clientregistry.blob and restarting it
