My voltage was at 1.650 and FSB was at 235. lol I wanted to go further but i was afraid its not stable at all at 2.6ghz. I was stable at like 2.5 around there. Anyways the temp was like at 55C. Just sharing with all of you lol

You gettin those specs with the newcastle or winchester core, just curious?

Its the Newcastle core, the temps did get high tho. How much can you overclock with your Winchester core?

I havn't got my comp. up and running yet, my cpu should come in the 15th though, im also not to experienced with overclocking but i heard you can get them up to 2.7 or 2.8 with really good cooling but not liquid. If i were to overclock mine though i would probably only bring it up to like 2.55 just to be safe.

Was this with STANDARD COOLING? I have a 3200+ 90nm and standard cooling. I want to know what is the safest and highest clock I can get my cpu to. Thanks

Noone can answer that - the only way to find out is to try.

Your cpu could be a terrible clocker - and lock up the second you start messing with the fsb. It could be very good, and fly like the wind :)

What ram do you have?

I'd check some decent hardware sites (recommend here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/) if I were you. Do a search and see what you might expect. Ask questions if you're unsure (they're very friendly and eager to help out in the ocuk forums)

RAM is definately a big factor on how far you can overclock your processor with amd64.

I really want to overclock my processor right now, but I have generic DDR400... I get max temps of 34C load from my processor.

my cpu wont OC, at all. I hate it. I have an A64 3000+ NewCastle and anytime I OC it like 50 more MHz it wont boot fully. It starts loading windows and freezes. Then I have to reboot and hope it starts up, and jump into my bios if it lets me and change it back before I kill it or something. It this cause of my RAM, maybe I should up my ram voltage?

This was on the standard heatsink but with a better 80MM fan on it. I think the reason i was able to overclock that high is because my ram was running at 157MHZ. I have some cheeeeappp ram lol. I need to buy some better ram that runs at 200MHZ but in a while.

heard of edit :p ;)

thats a great oc:D i fried my xp 2400 and it was bought in a bundle so i get the price of the bundle ina c red note so i can get a new rig ina month when i ahve the extra money yay for me!!

Im doing 250FSB at 10x mp with my newcastle 3500+ for a speed of 2.5GHz. I can do 2.62GHz stable at 238FSB x 11 but I would rather have the increased memory bandwidth. So yours is quite an average overclock really...

my friend managed to oc his 2500+ mobile to 3.6 gigz. was running pretty cool(volcano 12) but anythign higher than that woudltn work, and he didnt want to put the core voltage beyond 1.8v

I gotta AMD XP 3200+ that can hit 2.4GHz easy

A Barton at 2.4 gig is very slow compared to a A64 at 2.4.

Infact, my Barton at 2.6 gig isn't as fast as an A64 at 1.8 :/
