Not a problem selecting a single topic to write about, but the assignment demands I waste my time thinking up 7 different validly arguable topics so that I can throw 6 of them away so I can settle with 1.

basically anything that you could have used as fodder to waste 6 topics, while picking 1 real topic, are banned

Shamrock just asked pretty much the same question not too long ago. Go to the second page of the lounge and look for a thread called "need a topic for a paper" or something like that, by Shamrock.

I'll give you the topic I gave him. And thats the topic Sam Harris talks about: Can science answer questions of morality?

I'm not sure if you're implying I don't know what I'm talking about, or just that you disagree with that argument. imo Digital Desks only really have the advantages of Scene Memory, in-built digital dynamic processors and in some cases motorized faders; though there's always the stories you hear of DigiDesign concert systems shutting down or freezing halfway through a show, which is obviously going to suck balls. Not to mention the tonal difference I've found between the two, but in saying that, I haven't had a lot of experience with desks, so forgive me if I mis-said some terminology. I personally prefer analogue in everything but messing with the big magnetic tape stuff, though I plan to get involved in studio situations moreso than the live scene in the first place.

This isn't a thread to make arguments, it's a thread to suggest them for his project, whether I agree with them or not is irrelevant anyway.

Only a debatable topic in America. According to my international student friends, even people in China accept that global warming exists (although they won't necessarily do anything about it). In America, it seems to go like this -- "Does climate change exist? No I don't think so, because the economy sucks right now" or "No I don't think so because I don't like the president" or "No I don't think so because I can't understand science." :|

(I don't really mean to attack against the topic itself, just general stupidity.)

Anyways, this reminds me of a time I had to debate over downloading music. Luckily I got to argue the "it's wrong" side. It's virtually impossible to argue the "it's ok" side.
