So after trying EVERYTHING anyone suggested, I think I finally got it to work...

Now when I say working I only mean it doesnt crash.. It looks and sounds like crap, and is really jerky but at this point I dont care...

Now Here is what I did ( Ive done so many things, Ill try and remember what I all did)

I turned down my graphics (in performance settings)
no wall paper
made sure it wasnt in "classic style "
disabled all non essential programs (kept anti virus)
kept a paging file (i found it worse without it)
I changed all "auto save" files to read only
I moved the ram from slot 1 over to slot 3 (this is what I think really did it for me)

This enabled me to play for 4 hours with no problems. I will be slowly stepping up the graphics and background apps one by one to see what happens..

I will keep you posted

I had the same issue as you, and I took all the steps you did (except move the RAM about). I then picked up a 5200 256 NVidia card, and it runs with no problems at all. The graphics look great, no stuttering, nothing.

2.93 ghz
50Gig Hard drive
GForce 5200 256mb
**** knows what else, I'm not that geeky.

Now, must get home from work and shoot some more stuff. I've just got to the buggy level, and enjoying every second of it.
