I would have thought the pre-loads would be named.

To avoid confusion when we have to pre-load the second or the third.

Close please, thread finished.
Thought you were leaving?? Or was that just a plea for attention?

Close the thread? what?

If you've missed the first for some reason but you have the second and third pre-load then wouldit be easy to find the first (not easy if there not named)

Steam controls what preloads on your computer, not the other way around. You won't have an opportunity to be confused because you're not the one who selects what preloads.

Why bother?

This is most likely how it will work.

1. First preload is released, everyone downloads it, and it is placed in a .gcf file.

2. Second preload is released on top of the last preload. So if anyone missed the first preload, it doesn't matter, because they will be able to download them both at the same time. They will probably again go in the same gcf file.

3. This keeps repeating until it's all done, and the .gcf file is most likely finally named "half-life 2", with an additional "source engine" .gcf.

There's zero point in numbering them in case somene will miss one, becaue they won't miss them. The preloads will most likely just build on top of each other until it's one huge preload, i.e. the full game and engine.

Well, the mods didn't like the idea of someone with such a postcount as me trying to tell what I think, or that I'm leaving for a while.
So I decided to stay for a couple of weeks, beeing a general ass since most of the people here are just that.

Ok, so it was a plea for attention.

On Topic: I don't think they really need to 'label' each preload, firstly as it's been pointed out that steam just gets it all anyway and secondly, because the preload in incremental anyway, so when the 2nd comes out the 1st is unavailable anyway.
