IDE 120GB 7200RPM or SATA 80GB

What's the RPM of the SATA one?

I think I'd still get the IDE drive as there's no big performance difference between IDE and SATA at the moment.

yeah, if it's just a 7200rpm sata, then get the IDE. Unless your case is already a mess, and you don't want to spring for round ide cables.

I'll check the RPM of the SATA...
But is there a huge difference between the ATA and the SATA?

CACHE 8Mb 7200 80GB SATA

So, should I get the SATA or the IDE 7200 120Gb?? ;\

The 7200 rpm 8mb cache SATA drive in my machine is noticeably faster than my old ATA 133 drive. Its a Western Digital and its hella quiet, I always went with Samsung for silent HDD, or Seagate for pure speed. But I would HIGHLY recomend a 80 gig WD SATA drive! ! !

So if I'm getting a HDD should I get a WD, Samsung, Seagate or a Maxtor??

So what should I buy?? plz ppl!!! I need ur help here! :( I'm buying a new PC tomorrow!

Should I get the IDE 7200RPM 120Gb or the SATA 7200RPM 80Gb 8Mb Cache? =(

Edit : Also which company should I get? WD, Samsung, Seagate or a Maxtor?

Well, get WD or Seagate. I don't know samsung, and *some* people have problems with Maxtor.

So get either a WD or a Seagate. (choose on price or something, they're both great companies)

I's say the 120GB IDE. I have a 120GB Segate HDD (IDE) and it's performed great for me.

Get whichever is cheapest bud! WD was cheaper off newegg.com :)

I can choose every company that I want without extra money! :)
Thats y I've asked which HDD should I get cuz they all gonna cost me the same!! :D

Or you could have both performance and silence with a Hitachi. ;)
But really, either drive you buy will be good. Honestly, I would choose the one with the longer warranty.

Today I'm buying a new PC!!! :D
So, I think I'll get a Samsung IDE 120GB!... Should I? :p

If you have to spend more money go for the WD Raptor 10.000rpm sata, hella fast. The only problem there is only a 74GB max at the moment.

I dont want to spend more money... I just want a fast and silent HDD!! :(
