That's odd, I went to that page, clicked the link, and the command prompt popped up on the screen (web-site executed it using an IE only exploit).

I have auto updates off and im far too lazy to ever visit the MS site to do it manually.

You've probably disabled a component the exploit needs to work then

Yea, thats what i assumed
I changed the IE security settings a while back
Prolly why i've never had a problem with ie :-/

Firefox users can fix it anyway,

Goto C:/Documents and Settings/user/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/blah/compreg.dat

Edit out anything referring to IDN, I found 2 entries on my Win2000 machine. This has fixed the problem for me and many others.

Funny thing is, this doesn't affect IE because IE simply doesn't natively support IDNs.

Now if only we had a browser that didn't support the internet, we'd be exploit free!

Heh indeed, and the fact is people are making such a big thing of this. For this one bug there have been a hundred bugs for IE, this I know is slightly off-topic but people shouldn't go overboard when there is one major exploit found in alternate IE browsers.
