i know that it came off saying that they shouldn't be attacking us after we came in and fought to help them.... but the latest attack was from citezens to the US Military.... that's why i got so upset and i'm sorry...
BTW, we just sent 100,000 soldiers to iraq today
 
face it, 'democracy' doesn't work, and countries don't want the US pushing it onto them. granted, saddam was a bit of a prick and he needed to be removed. but wading in swinging your dick and mouthing off will not get results.

as bill hicks once said 'let's just evolve the way we think, let's evolve ideas'. you know what he's talking about? he's talking about doing things 'the right way'. an example, when british troops were in iraq they'd be curteous but firm and would always help civilians. the US troops would do the same, but with an attitude like nothing. they refused to take their sunglasses off, refused to lower their guns. how do i know this? i have a friend in the Royal Engineers. granted the US soldiers probably have reason to do this, but you guys just can't think more than five minutes in front of your faces can you? all these kids in the world are seeing the US as big bullies, going over and bombing and destroying to spread 'democracy'. they're gonna grow up hating the US just like their parents did. it's never gonna stop. the kids will become terrorists and inevitably you'll have to fight back. so 'let's evolve ideas' and stop bombing and whatever else. then they'll have no reason to hate you. simple as that.

While your friend is probably telling the truth, I don't see how you can say it's true for every single soldier in both the American and British armed forces. I'm sure there are people in the American armed forces who were curteous but firm and people in the British armed forces who were asshole who refused to take their sunglasses off or lower their guns.
Also you say Democracy doesn't work. What does work? Dictatorship? Communism? Monarchy? I live in England and 'Democracy' (Not actual Democracy, but close enough since we still have a monarch hence a constitutional monarchy), works fine for me. Perhaps you meant that making [forcing], democracy on countries doesn't work, I don't know, but I think it's quite unfair to say it doesn't work when Western countries are working fine with it.
 
i live in england as well, and it's clear democracy doesn't work. i didn't suggest any other forms of government because i simply have no idea. communism works IN THEORY, but in practice it doesn't work, same with democracy.

can you say that you're happy with the state of our country? can any US citizens say they're completely happy with the state of their country? are they content with the leadership and do they trust their leaders? i certainly am not. this country has been a monarchy/democracy for a long time now and very little progress is made. still stuck in a rut.

what form of leadership do you think would work? or should we stick with democracy and rework it somehow, or even 'evolve our ideas'.

Not really surprising Alzxul, with the USA being almost the largest and wealthiest country in the world.
But still, don't make it sound like the USA is the only country in the world giving money.

So far the USA have invested more money in destroying Iraq than to rebuild it.
 
Can't we all just get along? Seriously! Thats what i'm talking about, everyone is so quick to point out the bad side of America, but no one (in other countries) is willing to say a good thing about us, and our people.. If you can look past your stereotypes and generalizations of Americans, you will find that the majority of people here are nice/kind caring and friendly people, why does it always have to be "my country is better than yours" why don't we all work together? Our government (at least not the current one) is not a representation of how all Americans feel, or even the majority for that matter, if you were to ask me how I would handle foriegn policy I would tell you "I would get rid of all the weapons of mass destruction in the middle east, meaning I would demand Israel destroys their WMD, Arial Sharon (sp?) would be in front of a war crimes tribunal right now, The U.N. along with the current coalition would be working together in Iraq to clean up the mess there, Afghanistan would get the money and aid they were promised, the billions upon billions spent on military weapons production would be cut dramatically to support food/medical here at home and abroad, the department of homeland security would be abolished because its a freakin joke, the patriot act would never see the light of day, Bush, Perle, Wolfowitz, Rumsfield would all be behind bars for war crimes, and North Korea would be promised security so they would start destroying their weapons program. And I would personally (if I were president) appologize to the world for the ignorance, and actions taken before my induction into office...."
 
i don't hate americans, where have i said that? i think i'm just trying to get a bit of ranting done. in reality nothing will change and we'll continue complaining.

Look guys I may seem like an american basher but really its not ure guys fault its ure government and particular companies, its not just war, there are serious enviromental issues and big TNCs coming in and screwing up some 3rd world's economy. I mean god we dont just hate it for no reason along with millions of others.
 
We try to set an example.Before WW1 we tried to be neutral and declare peace.But what happend?We went to war because germany attacked the Lusitiana(probally not spelled correctly) and tried to get mexico to attack us.WW2 we tried to stay neutral and declare peace.But what happend?Japanesse attacked Pearl Harbor.Since then we have decided to help put this world back in order.Get rid of communism and tyrants (and no don't say Bush is one because he isn't due to congress).Untill the day that the world is united under one goverment there will be wars.If every country in this world were democratic there might be peace.But I can tell thats never going to happen.
