heres my point. it would make sense for vivendi to keep hl2 till april so they could milk CZ for all its worth. because on average what game would you choose if you could buy only one that quarter, hl2 or CZ?

not a tough choice for an fps gamer that has an adequate system and is not a hardcore CS player right? they would pay their $50, and CZ would be history. thats scenario #1

scenario #2 now on the other hand. if CZ came out and hl2 was delayed till april, an fps gamer now has this choice. buy a new halflife/cs product, or hold off till hl2. many people will crack and get CZ(i probably will). then comes april, you give $50 for hl2. now what profit does vivendi/valve get? $100. double what they would have got if they released hl2 near CZ from an 'average' gamer.(dont nail me on prices, im not sure what the exact prices are, but you get the point)

now i know there are exceptions, like people choosing a different game besides a valve product. but im coming from the perspective of valve/vivendi. and i can't think of a better way to do it financially for them then scenario #2. agree? disagree? why?

No one is gonna buy CZ anyway.

I was thinking I was the only one that doesnt give a damn about CZ.. I LOVE cs but I cz... nah

i think for many people opinions about CZ will change if an april release date is confirmed by valve. i hope to god it isn't delayed personal, but im just trying to think from a greedy bastards perspective. a valve fan will be thirsty with only CZ to drink, so he might buy to hold him over. then when he is thirsty again, april is there, and valve sells another drink for $50. its apparently not the case for you guys, but for many it could be

Amazon.co.uk changed the release date for HL2 from 1st Dec 2003 to 2nd April 2004....

Until the time Valve has confirmed the game will be delayed to April 2004 the holidayrelease is still on. The retailers know as much as we do.

Indeed, just look at how many release dates are out there.

You do have a point poseyjmac, you do have a point...

PS: That your cat?

I'm sorry, but CS:CZ is WAY too far behind the times to find itself in my gaming budget.

I'm gonna have to wait for reviews on how CZ plays... I stopped playing Counter-Strike two years ago and only play it now when I'm forced to because everyone at a LAN want's to play it... Half-Life 2 will be bought the day its out, CZ only if I hear good things about it...
