LOl .. Ok :rolling: Now I know I need some sleep for sure.

lol.. no ones going to listen to our requests.... the movie will be the movie.. if they ever make one.

I think that this would work far better as an independent film or possibly a series of shorts. A full-length motion picture (in theatres) would most likely either be quite tacky (like most movies based on video games) or kind of uninteresting to the general public. :monkee:

LMAO

those are some nice pics snowball. what program did you use.

there was a thread started about a month ago on casting for a HL movie..

the most popular choice in that thread was Edward Norton for Gordon's role.. for those that do not recognize Norton, he been in Fight Club, Keeping the Faith, American History X, Death to Smoochy, Red Dragon etc.. good actor!! :)

Charlie Sheen would also be good for Gordon's role, but immma Ed Norton fan :p

hmm.. for G-man.. this becomes a bit more tricky because of the voice.. hissy thing the G-man is famous for..

what about John Malcovich? Christopher Walken would be okay i suppose.. pple suggested Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith from Matrix) but they also feared that pple would only remember Hugo as Agent Smith.

as for Alyx, Kristen Kreuk sounds like a good fit for that role..

Barney? alot of pple suggested Matthew Broderick.. and maybe so.. but i could see Matt Leblanc doing a better job hehe

Adrian Shepherd? well through the whole Opposing Force u never actually get to see his face.. so really it could be anyone within the height of 5'10-6'2 (if John Malcovich isn't chosen as G-man, maybe hes suited as Adrian? yes... im a fan of him too :p )

heres a tougher one.. who plays Otis? lol
a secruity guard that loves doughnuts... hm.. wheres Chief Wiggum when ya need him lol

Walter the scientist: Donald Sutherland.. he'd be perfect for this role

Ali Vance: obvious choice is Morgon Freeman (even tho we don't know how Ali Vance interacts with us and stuff..)

Dr. Kliener: Charlie Sheen... someone mentioned he looks like one of the scientists.. i agree!!

so who is everyone casting in the Otis role huh? :dork:

Here's the funny thing. This guy will be that guy. They'll do this. They won't do that. It will or won't any number of things.

How about the fact that, unless I missed a post or two in the official valve thread, THERE'S NO ACTUAL HALF-LIFE MOVIE EVEN BEING SERIOUSLY DISCUSSED YET?!?!?

Of course if there WAS, then I retract the above rant =P

Whats wrong with a little creative thinking?

Does it really matter if there will be a movie or not?......we are just having fun....

which part of my post is "way off" ??

for the most part, i agreed with most of the pple in this thread with actors and roles..

only times i was being unique is when i suggested Walter the scientist, Dr. Kliener and G-man be played by pple that others haven't suggested in those roles.. so unless ur referring to this as "way off" then i guess alot of pple are "way off"

so nobody is taking the monumental task of finding an actor for the Otis role? bah! u guys are no fun :p

They arnt aliens. Theyre interdimensional beings.

The fact that they are interdimentional beings doesn't contradict the fact that they are aliens. The word "alien" really just means something\someone is from somewhere very different, making them very different to those around them. The word "alien" doesn't have any relation to other planets or outer space, it's merely used most commonly in that context because beings from other planets would certainly be the most "alien" creatures we could come across.

I watched Solaris last night, and kept picturing George Clooney as Gordon. I had never even considered it till i saw him in space his gettup.

I'm going to be starring as the G-Man.

Is your avatar a personal photo? If so, you'd be a great G-Man!!

They really don't NEED to do a HL movie in my opinion. Besides, Half-Life sota felt like an interactive movie as you played through it...

They should, on no account whatsoever make an HL film. It won't be good. Simple as that.

I think Charlie Sheen looks perfect for the part. I also think he's perfect in his attitude...I mean, no one knows what Gordon acts like since he doesn't speak, but I feel like Sheen's intense, squinty look is perfect.

I don't think any of the other characters are worth casting to top people...I mean the G-Man doesn't appear that much. Alyx would probably be other lead and this type of movie is perfect for new actresses who are *ahem* desperate for work.

The most important thing of ALL, however, is a GOOD SCRIPT. Frankly, games suck for script material, so what people have to do is write a whole new story where only the characters and general setting is taken from the movie. Also get a good director who won't just fill up the 2 hours with special effects (see Resident Evil).

Personally I would like to see Half-Life the Movie take advantage of the industrial gritty feel of Half-life (kinda like the Matrix has that sick green industrial feel to it).

Here's my personal take on the cast list, it's basically the best of what was offered here plus a few others.

Gordon Freeman - Charlie Sheen
G-Man - Christopher Walken
Barney - Ron Livingston
Alyx - Kristen Kreuk
Eli Vance - Morgan Freeman
Dr Kleiner - Kevin Spacey
Adrian Sheperd - Vin Diesel

Cheers.

I disagree. They should make a film. It can be just as good as the game. I think it is excellent how valve is waiting for the right production team to come along and make it. Becasue it is rather easy to botch up.

I just watched Resident Evil the movie. What an excellent job they did on that film. See, it can be done right if enough money is put behind it to get a good enough cast, sound crew and to afford the type of special effects that such a film would require. Resident evil was made true enough to the original game. I always though the game was more like a movie at times... and I sometimes got the opposite feelings when watching the film just then. I think the valve team should hunt down Resident Evil's director. Thats the dirrection Half-life the film go go in.

I had the same feeling as well playing through HL1... that this is just like an interactive film at times... :D

G-Man - Christopher Walken

YES YES YES YES YES YES

it is like it was MODELED OF HIM
