IGN Awards - Half-Life 2 Scoops Three More

In what seems to be a bumper day for awards announcements, IGN have announced the winners of their 2004 awards. As expected, our favourite game pretty much cleaned up in the categories it was eligible for, winning:

• Best First-Person Shooter[br]
• Best Graphics[br]
• PC Game of the Year[br]

So that makes two GotY awards in one day, and hopefully the first of many.[br]

Well when it falls to me to do the actual posting, something has gone wrong somewhere along the line

I particularly enjoy all the whooping and hollering from the Doom 3/Far Cry fanboys when they realize Half-Life 2 won Best Graphics.

far cry graphics are nothing special. HL2's graphics are a bit better. doom3 produces the cleanest image (i.e. antialiasing makes the least amount of difference, etc.) but i think hl2 looks better simply because it's not relegated to repetitive, indoor areas.

yay! go half life 2. I thought Far Cry's graphics were better than Doom3 but not nearly as good as HL2's.
