There's no difference between 1 & 3.

Go get a new job that interests you that you can climb the ladder in. Or a job with tuition reimbursement and goto school.

OR

Dance for money

I'd go postal.

OMG lol

I've worked for Linens N Things for 12 years now and I think they are finally going to close the rest of the stores, its sad.

What should i do next??

1.Collect unemployment for a while
2.Find another job fast
3.Play Brothers in arms, dead space, farcry 2 while I sit on my ass collecting unemployment checks.

I Have no idea and no college experiance.

What would you do?

Get a job where you'll always be needed + pays relatively well. IE: an orderly position in a hospital.

When the fall finally comes you'll have a secure job. Doooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

why would you work in one shop for twelve years

D:

Damn what the hell were you doin at Linen N Things for 12 years?

I lost my job last week. But I was only working there a year. And I got ?660 severance.

I'm currently doing number 1, while waiting for number 2 with the difference that job=college.

Option 3 comes Bad Hat recommended.

In other words, don't.

That store was just a front, he's actually a drug dealer.
Thus why he always had enough money for games, the latest hardware, and cars.

He's just worried that the FBI's going to raid the building and find a tunnel into Mexico in the stock room floor where they're smuggling drugs. :|

so that's what "things" means in Linen and Things

"I'll have a king size bedspread and an eightball please"

Just ask your self what thing.

Do people need this?

If people need what your company produces, and i mean NEED, I don't think it would go under any time soon. Just see if any places are open for hiring in your area and ask your self this question.

Apply at Blood Bath'n'Beyond. Seems like working at Cloth N Stuff would be a great way to improve the likelihood of getting hired at a similar type store.

Get off the Weeds.

Get a new job, obviously.

Ask around if friends of a friend of a relative has any jobs, word of mouth is apparently the most widespread means of gaining employment.

people need loans in the US :O

You know, this redundancy could be the start of something so much better for you. It could give you time to begin building a guided education. Think of something you really want to do, something which you could apply yourself to and go for it. Expand your horizons, man.

Around 6 months ago, I had to file for unemployment for the first time in my life because business was slow @ work & so I was not working for several weeks. While I do not believe in god per se, I did thank him profusely that this great nation I live in, had a program in effect that would allow me to continue providing support for my family, though to a lesser degree, until work picked back up & I got more hours.

However, I felt a deep sense of shame during the 3 weeks that I collected.

I'm sorry to hear that you will be losing your job. The more so because you have put so much time into the company. My wife likes to shop there when we have the extra money. As for what you can do, I would honestly do whatever you can to make ends meet, but instead of getting stuck in *another* dead end job, I would advise you to look at getting financial aid & taking classes to gain employment in the medical field. The state of California alone has a shortage of over 5k more nurses than is currently available. In the medical field, there is never a lack of work.

Most of my family is in the medical field & they have never had to worry about looking for a job, even in our countries currently poor(er) economy.

Thats my advice to you.

I'm a dept manager, Worked hard to get there, We are getting a nice Severance Paycheck + a Liquidation bonus if i stick around for the Closing portion. I think i'll go apply at Blood bath and Beyond.

Jesus ****. In retail for twelve ****ing years? In the same ****ing store?

It makes me sad that you dont even know what a good job is. Anyways, you'll take the best opportunity available to you, it doesnt matter what anyone says here. Life isnt going to screech to a hault because Linen and Things went out of buisness.

you should get one of those hobo signs that say
'me needz money'
