Internet speeds are always quoted in Mbit/sec, not Mbytes.

56k modem for example is 56 kilobits, which is about 7 kilobytes.

I don't know wtf ace is talking about, whether the M is capitalized or not means nothing. There is no other unit of bytes measure that starts with M, and if there is nobody would use it. Lower case b is bits, upper case B is bytes.
