because Clinton was impeached for getting a blowjob.
Bush's leadership is causing the injuries/deaths of thousands of American soldiers (not to mention civils) with no end in sight.
Bush's leadership is bankrupting the USA- just like the multiple corporations he drove into the ground before taking office (Iraq = $5 billion per month).
Bush's leadership has done absolutely nothing to secure the homeland or improve our response to crisis- Katrina just proved that beyond all doubt. And THEY KNEW IT WAS COMING DAYS IN ADVANCE. Every American should be angered by this embarassment and heads should roll (figuratively, of course).
Bush is a slacker who has statistically taken more vaction time in office than any other President in history- Katrina interrupting his 5 week summer vaction validates that.
IMO, the whole current administration needs to go.

thankfully, though, Bush's leadership WILL protect us from developing the tremendous medical benefits of stem cells and also protect us from 2 gay people getting a piece of paper that says they're married. i'm glad our nation's priorities are clear.

here's a simple fact here - Unless some tremendous act or unknown knowledge about Bush comes out he is not getting impeached

Look there is only one reason anyone should ever be impeached from a Goverment Position.
By not representing what the people think. Thats why they're there, to represent us so not every single person has to vote on every single thing.

Well if your doing a piss poor job at representing what the majority of the people think in our country, you deserve to be impeached. It isn't about cheating of your wife or anything, Bill was a guy we all make mistakes. For all we know hiliary was giving him mixed signals and he thought it was ok. But anyway enough about that, is Bush serving what the majority of America thinks?
I personally don't think so.
 
Bush should get impeached, but he won't. He could probably indirectly kill an additional million people and stay in office.
The only way Bush is getting impeached is if it were discovered he was having a homosexual affair.

He was impeached, but he wasn't removed from office. I don't think anything else needs to be said about your place in a conversation like this after your comment towards him.

But back on topic, Bush certainly deserves to be impeached. Whether or not it has any chance of happening there should be a serious movement towards getting him thrown out of office. If the Republicans get to spend millions of tax payer dollars prosecuting a guy for getting his knob polished then we should get to crucify Bush for being responsible for the deaths of thousands of people.

No one cared that he got a BJ. He lied under oath and that is serious. That was proven fact and breaking the law. What was posted is more or less factual opinion. What that means is it stems from truth but is twisted to fit opinion. If Bush could be impeached by what he has done it would have happened so far, so claims like this are pretty dumb. Perhaps us HL2.Netter should tell them to impeach Bush because of those reasons. Obviously they haven't thought of that so far.

What's worse? Lieing about a sexual affair or lieing about weapons of mass destruction that are going to destroy the U.S if action isn't taken as soon as possible? The latter is a TAD more serious imo.

It's just disappointing to see the evil and suffering that happens as a result of Bush's decisions (and will happen in the future) is prefectly legitimate in the eyes of the law. He will never be punished for his crimes.

And now the latest news of trying to push through a law to allow pre-emptive nuclear strikes. Bush could nuke NK and Iran BECAUSE THEY HAVE WMDS AND will destroy the US if action isn't taken immediataely. Throw in a few words like freedom, god, bless, America, with,us, or,against and you've convinced the populace nuking another country is the right decision AND within the law.

That whole incident annoyed me immeasurably. It always seemed to me that, whilst it was awful that he'd cheated on his wife, that it was nobody's business except him, his wife, his daughter and possibly Lewinski. It was their issue to deal with, there's no reason it should be inflicted on the rest of the world.

You do understand that Bush lied in his state of the union speech, an impeachable (illegal) offense. I sure hope you knew that as I've tried to hammer it in your head 1000 times now, make this 1001; but somehow I have this feeling you will again repeat 'Bush did nothing illegal' next time this comes up. :rolleyes:

okay, the constitution stipulates that impeachment requires an excecution of "high crime and/or misdemeanor." one of which is classified as "abuse of power." so the question that begs is: is the invasion of a foreign country that did not attack, nor declare war, nor pose an immediate threat to the USA considered an abuse of power? in my book, yeah, you bet. and no link between Iraq and al-queda was ever proven, not to mention the false pretenses of WMD.

will anything happen to Bush? no. one of the eminent domains of government is that officials are rarely held accountable for their work or performance (been to the DMV lately?)

my solution: we annex Iraq, make it the 51st state and ship the oil straight home- our tax dollars are paying for it, so why the hell shouldn't we reap what we sow? hot damn, gas would be 50 cents a gallon within a year and we could tell OPEC to shove it. but, noooo. we'll spend hundreds of billions propping Iraq back up so they can turn around and rape us selling their sweet crude.

We talked about this so much already. It will make absolutely no difference if Bush or Cheney are in power; they are all the same neo-cons working for the exact same machine. It won't matter if you have Cheney, Bush, Delay, Frist, or whoever, they will all **** up the country the same way. Americans get too invovled in personal character when looking at presidential candidates and in the end that is what is messing this country up.

Even if Cheney did end up VP, I doubt he could do too much damage in just two years.

Thowever, impeachment is more valuable as a symbol of accountability than as a method of removing Bush from office

It'd tell all future presidents that if you shit things up as terribly as Bush, you WILL be handed your ass.
By letting the president screw up so many things so terribly, it sets a precedent.

Now any politician can see how easilly Bush got away with casually making so many massive errors and abuses of power, and then do the same. Suddenly you've got literally no consequences.

He could, but he wouldn't seek reelection, Rove wouldn't allow it as he would never win.

Bush has accepted responsibility for the "Katrina Failure"!!!!! ( I couldn't believe it either!!)

and also he has declared martial law (only in New Orleans,I think) and this could lead the way to an "extended" term...

now THAT is scary
