What is the best browser, in your opinion? Hopefully I named all of them, and haven't forgotten anyone.

Bah, virus's suck... Firefox all the way! I can see the weather...on the bottem right of my screen :). Just a move of the mouse not even a click.

Damnit tommarow a thunderstorm...and I have to work :(

Safari.
Seriously. Camino is pretty good as well.

ie - it works, and i didn;t have to d/l anything else since it came with windows

I like IE but it has too much potential for being infected since it's the most used browser out there. I only use it on secure sites for banking and such. It doesn't have the features currently that Firefox has and IE uses ActiveX which further increases me being infected.

Firefox has the potential for being infected but it isn't targeted. I like all the extra features as well such as tab browsing. It's also linux compatible. ;)
And it doesn't have ActiveX enabled by default nor flash. Also it doesn't use explorer as it's core unlike IE. I've modified the config file so it's nice and fast as well. ;)

What's the difference between Firebird and Firefox?

Firefox ftw :)
Same here. I didn't use Firebird, but I heard it's Firefox all in all, plus a few more features.

Phoenix, Firebird and Firefox refer to the same browser. It was first called Phoenix and then Firebird. I think it was around version .8 that it changed to Firefox.

And you left out Mozilla (Mozilla Application Suite), Firefox's fatter cousin.

Opera is the best.

MSIE is swiss cheese in terms of security, features, and taste. They're still not supporting CSS 2!! And for how many years has PNG support been broken? Since it was introduced... How can anyone stand and defend this as a superior browser?

Firefox is nice, but why not choose Opera: faster, leaner, and more features without having to tack on a ton of extensions.

IE, K-Melon, and Safari aren't cross-platform anyway.

I voted Opera. I've never used it but have heard so many good things about it, and since it and FF both run on the Gecko core, a vote for it is a vote for FF (least in my book).

But yeah, FF is kickass. it's got so many more customization options than IE.

I'm surprised at the lack of love for Opera so far in the poll. Maybe it's just cos people don't know of it...? I love it. IE always got screwed by browser hijacking and security holes for me, and there was something about Firefox's uber-squarish look I could never get used to - Opera fits the bill perfectly.

I voted Firefox. Been using it for over a year and a half now, and havent looked back! Got it customised just the way I like it.

I've considered Opera once, but "got scared" because of the fact that it contains adware.

The vast resources of the internet should only be explored with Internet Explorer, heathens!

Although the poll convinced me, I was pretty confident already that Mozilla Firefox is the most favorite web browser among most of us HL2.net members.

I voted Opera, and its what i use. Ive never really used Firefox or many others much, but if it aint broke....

Teh builder shall smite thee, AntiAnto, Asus, bosox188, bryanf445, Da-Muffin-Man, DaleusTheBig, daver_, Devvo, duffers20, FictiousWill, Hazar, Idonotbelonghere, iMMuNiTy, JellyWorld, joule, MF-Boltress, Murray, neptuneuk, PickledGecko, Revisedsoul, Shamrock, Ti133700N, xlucidx, Zappathefappa!

Bah. Firefox is very practical and easy to use. Only some sites like Gamespot and IGN begin flashing madly until the site is fully loaded. That's bad for your eyes, you know...

I wonder why no-one has voted for Netscape.

Because Netscape is a steaming pile of shit.

I used to use it back when I was a mac man. It's better than IE, but not by much.

And saying that, yes, I know that there is no such thing as Spyware on a mac, so IE's security holes shouldn't be a problem, but the browser itself just sucks so much.

But yeah, I guess a vote for Opera is a vote for Firefox and Netscape, and a vote for Firefox is a Vote for Opera and Netscape. Considering they both run off the same core, making them both very much the same (and in reality, they really are a lot the same).
