No, we will not change the setting and the story for the mod. It'd be alot easier if you would just open your mind and not be so narrow minded.
Why can what happened on Earth not repeat somewhere else?
Thanks.
Idiot my ass. You need a planet exactly the same sice as Earth with the same distance from his star as Earths distance from the sun. The planet also needs a moon that looks exactly like the moon we have. You need a planet that has exactly the same ellements(ex: water), life also has to start the same way as it did on Earth and then you have 0,00000000000000000000000000001% change the animals and plants look (a little) like plants and animals on Earth. If a meteorite didnt hit the Earth 65mlj years ago mamals would be extinct by now. In the history of Earth there have been 21 BIG extictions like this(dinosaur extinction was the last one), if one of those didnt happen life forms on Earth would look a lot different!Plants are not man made, so how would it not repeat on other planets? Its naturally done you idiot.
You focus to much on fantasy.
I would hope so. But human weapons would also have evolved. Probably not into lasers, but you could incorporate a few U.S. military qualifing designs. The XM-8 would probably still be in service. Though it would be the M-8 or the AR-8. Their weas one from Steyr that shot flachetes using a new sabot/propellant design. Or the first pic is an modified AUG from Steyr, that looks cool. Actually i sugest you check out the steyr site, http://www.steyr-mannlicher.com. They got some pretty neat looking stuff. Or check out this page, on it is a hybrid between a 20mm and .50cal sniper/anti-material rifle. http://www.steyr-aug.com/amr.htm.The "alien" weapons will be futuristic plasma/cell based weapons.

Praz said:Alright, don't even worry about the story.
Halflife2.net didn't post it right.
First, Earth has minimum resources, it is why they go out to get more after they found a planet extremly similiar to earth.
Second, the other race finds the same one.. It's a fight for life, the other race eventually comes to earth to wipe out the rest of the resources and take them and wipe out the humans. ETC.
Full story is not needed until multiplayer is done (when we add the singleplayer afterwards).

This is a heavily vehicle-based modification, focusing on 'Halo-style combat'...
So it may have to face comparisons with BF2, which is currently the king of vehicle-based, emergent warzones.
Praz said:Six...to wipe them out so they don't have to deal with them again.
Simple.
ACLeroK212 said:So two worlds just happen to be searching for resources on the same exact planet at the same exact point in time. I'm assuming the aliens then drive the humans off since you say they head back for Earth, at which point they decide to continue to wage war back on Earth. Now you would think waging a war against a whole planet would require a ton of resources as is. And lets not forget they're searching for more resources across the galaxy, so you would think resources would be pretty limited for them. All to take out a planet they have little to nothing to gain from. But they're waging an interplanetary war just so they don't have to deal with us again?! How does that make sense? Especially if they just won over the resource loaded planet and the people of Earth are basically left resourceless with nowhere else to go.
Sorry, but this story sounds way, way too forced. It's like you got all this shit going on and battles for whole planets and whatnot, yet it's all based around a lack of resources, which would make all the other events going on seem pretty tough/impossible/illogical to pull off.

Noobulon said:Heh... I would prefer it if the dinosaur planet was Earth, but Earth several million years ago. Humanity has f**ked up its planet and its future, so now they're travelling back in time to leech the past of resources.
That would make a great tonge-in-cheek plot, and would be topical as well. Humanity fecks up the planet across several different eons. :E

What about the HK G11s? They dont use gun powder and they're simple and even more effective than regular guns. And what about rail guns? The idea of magnetic propulsion of a projectile. Sure they havent perfected the technology yet, but its a great idea.DoctorWeeTodd said:1. We've been using the firearm as a weapon for hundreds of years and according to recent archaeological discoveries, possibly thousands. Yet we haven't changed this principal of placing explosives behing an object in an isolated tube to propel it and harm someone with it's kinetic energy. We still use it because it is a simple and effective weapon.
