I got the idea from another forum

Post the worst injuries you or someone you know ever had.

I fell out of my truck and cut my elbow open IT HURT
 
I was never really hurt in any way, worst was like my fingernail torn off.
But a friend of mine smashed his car in a concrete pillar on the side of the road and got into a coma for a few days. Car wasn't insured either and it was obviously a total loss and he only had it for a few days.
 
Just the other day I bailed off of a moving dirtbike (it was that or hit the rock).
Nothing major, but I'm covered in little scrapes and some big bruises.
 
CB: That explains a lot ;)...

tGB: Just because you lost your brain at age seven, and don't want to talk about it :p...

As for me... I like to think I've kept myself pretty injury free... though there was that one time I kicked a punching bag with what may have just been slightly the wrong technique, and had to go lie down for three hours because my foot was screaming at me...
 
bad sprained ankle a few years back, had to use a cane for a week.

very deep cut right underneath my bottom lip when I fell down on something hard and sharp, permanent scar there now, and I can still feel part of it on the inside of my mouth.

Riding on the back of an ATV when the driver decided to unexpectantly accelerate, I fell off the back but had my feet still caught on the ATV so my head hit the gravel rode and I was dragged a few meters before the driver noticed. Stitches and a minor concussion from that.

Nothing that big but those are the worst of my injuries.
 
When I was really young i fell of a climbing frame and landed on a shard of glass that made a gash just above my eye that took several stiches.


That wasn't much fun.

I broke my leg before. And my thumb has been fractured. And my knuckle.



Er.... not much else as far as i can remember....
 
finger trapped in the part of a car where the boot meets the metal. hard to explain, but i was maybe 7, and my dad just thought the boot wouldn't shut, and kept slamming it. that was pretty bad.

sprained my arm when i was maybe 4, by falling down 3 flights of stairs in a flat.

6 scars on my hand from a shar pei biting the crap outta me. [4 on the palm, 2 on the top.]

No, because I'm not eager to post injuries only for the topic poster to laugh at.

Well maybe I did lose my brain... BUT I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT. ;(
 
Meh, it's a sharing thing.

Not one of my injuries: My dad has only nine toes, after accidentally removing one with a pneumatic drill...

Cool, you ride dirtbikes too?

I'm an amatuer racer. Were going to Mammoth mountain to race in June.
I have had some bad injuries on dirt bikes. I got knocked out and run over a few times. I have hurt my back and my leg, but I'm 15 so I take pain better than older people do. :p
 
ehh.i fell out of a tree when i was like 9 and broke my arms..then when iw as 12 i broke the same arm again skating
 
lets see... i broke my arm ages ago, i broke my finger playing rounders, i broke my arm skateboarding and my teeth have cut all the way through my lip. nothing too bad apart from that.
 
ripped a tendon in my left shoulder, meaning i couldn't move my arm for the best part of 6 months. it happened while at Tae-Kwon-Do. we were having a black belt session and i was the youngest there. we started sparring and i got mullered by a ruddy big irish fellow. he was nice about it, even wiped my drool after i passed out from the pain.

i've also got a dodgy groin muscle. can't really do much about it except warm up and stretch thoroughly before playing football or any kind of sport.

no broken bones here thank god.
 
I had my front two teeth broken in half and hanging by a thread of tissue from my mouth. And I fell out of a pine tree. Didn't break any bones but a helluva lot of scratches. I looked like somehting out of hellraiser.
 
i am a squemish person and i dont like reading this thread. :( "by a thread of tissue" just really makes me want to walk around with polysteirine over my head.

Oh, and then there was that time when I fell into a bed of nettles wearing onyl a pair of shorts...
 
I was chasing one of my friends at school and I tripped and scrapped my knee heavily and it was bleeding badily, I slid at the time also...
I was wearing my nicest pair of cargo pants:(

they were on your head right?! would've been painful to get stung on your head..
 
My dog once bit my hand pretty hard, chomped down. Didn't do any real damage to my hand, but it caused an infection which was slowly headed to my heart through my bloodstream. You could see it by a bright red line running in my veins, went to the doctor and got some antibiotics. Couldn't use my hand for about 2 weeks IIRC.. I was about 10 wehn this happened.
 
Hey, I just remembered the time when a friend of mine threw a stone at another (very large) friend's foot. The stone hit me on the bak of the head.
"Don't worry," says Suicide 42. "Your long hair will protect you. It's then that I take my hand away fromt he back of my head nad it's covered in blood. Cue me sitting in the school's medical room with a hole in my head and Suicide plus my 'friend' sitting outside singing "we killed him with a stone, with a stone, with a stone!" Ah, memories. Remember that, Suicide?
 
Well me and my brothers taking turns to go down a slide on a skateboard, by lying down on it.
I was lying on my back and I half slipped off the skateboard so that it continued to go along but the ground was scraping at my back, that was nasty. Of course Ive fell into nettles many a time there is a overgrown area at the back of my garden which I used to go into to randomly hit nettles with a stick. lots of fun. I also went down a nettle infested hill in a sleeping bag, that was a bit odd.
 
when I was a few days old my mum fell out the back of a minibus with me in her arms and aparantly i bounced.

when I was 3 or 4 I fell down a full flight of stairs and landed head first on my sisters dolls-house which was stupidly left at the bottom of the stairs (i think they were trying to get rid of me)

since then ive been pretty much injury-free, other than the fact about an hour ago I managed to accidentally shoot myself in the kneecap with my desert eagle BB gun. Ouch.
 
Wow, some pretty painfull sounding stuff here....


I appear to be quite lucky compared to some people. Which I guess is good. But it also means I probably have the worst to come :| :rolling:
 
I got a sliver one time, like holy shite it was really deep in the skin on my thumb, goddamn.
 
i got shot with a paintball gun with full velocity at point blank... :| not fun
 
My worst injury ever was when I cracked my head open snowboarding. Was really funny, the people on the ski lift were like "are you all right?!?" and I was like "yeah fine!" Then I look down and see a ton of red blood. So I went down the mountain to the ski lift *this mountain was weird, lodge at the top, lift at the bottom* and waited for the Rescue Vehicle to show up. I'm just sitting there waving as everyone is starting at me with my head totally bleeding all over the place. Didn't feel a thing!

Ya its funny how after being hit in the head like that no one feels anything, when I got hit in the head I didn't feel a thing until a couple hours later when I suddenly felt amazingly tired and sick to my stomach, no pain in the head though.

Guessing you had the same thing?
 
My worst injury happened about a year ago. I was trying to intercept a soccer ball without any shoes on with my 'off' foot. I got it, but then felt a sharp sting shoot up my leg. So I fall on the grass and start rolling around, and my buddies thought I was ok. They were wrong. I had to have 2 steel pins inserted into my toe, and when it came time to pull them out, the doctor had to yank them out with a wrench, while blood was spurting everywhere. It hurt. Bad.

well, you guys will get a laugh anyhoo...

I was about 9, and had just finished having a waterbaloon right at a friends house, and had gone in to eat. It started to rain, and I remembered I left my watch outside, so I went to get it. Rounded a corner to see their dalmation...I scared it, it scared me, I jumped back, arms wide, it jumped back and then left forward.

the funny part?

well, its upper jaw didn't to any damage to my shoulder, its lower jay however, tore out a nice chunk from my armpit...

yea, six stiches in my armpit. goto love it eh?
 
ouch...yea, head injuries are like that for most people...not I...

while mowing the lawn (Riding lawn mower) I didnt duck quite enough and slammed my head on a branch. It almost pulled me off the mower, and thats the closest I have ever come to blacking out, I guess I did actually, for all of a second. amazing how much blood can come from a small wound...

finished mowing. I figured I'm not going to shave my head for a bandage, and the sun will make it scab over faster. :D
 
I got a sliver once...true story.
 
I once fell out of an airplane without a parachute. Since I lost all my endless intellectual poencial.

Not really, never got sick to my stomach. Was a bit tired that night tho, went to an amusement park the next day = P Was on vacation and I'm not gonna let something like a concussion ruin my fun!! *no I didn't actually get a concussion*
