Iraq: hell on earth

i'm a little confused, so please explain. Are you refering to in Iraq, occupying, or the US Military's overall presence in the MidEast?
For:
-The First article talks about American troops in general in the MidEast (Persian Gulf Region), and possibly US deploying of a fast-reaction force in Kuwait to "assist" the Iraqi government if shit hits the fan.
-The second article dates from 2004 where Bush faced the Abu Ghraib problems and enhancements of insurgency behavior along with pull-outs from allies if i recall correctly.
-The third article dates from 1991, and talks about the indefinate no-fly zones.

Note: i'm asking for explanation, not attacking..

1st link contains this:

Council on foreign relations said:
, Stephen Biddle, research professor of national security studies at the U.S. Army War College's Strategic Studies Institute, says no other country or international organization can provide the necessary security other than the United States. "We're the only show in town at the moment," he says. "If we leave, you get a region-wide conflagration." William Nash, director of Council's Center for Preventive Action, favors U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq but envisions some form of limited military presence remaining in the region

the second link says this:

USA today said:
Also on Monday, the United States and Britain introduced a United Nations resolution that would endorse the hand-over of power to an interim Iraqi government but allow U.S-led forces to stay indefinitely in a security role.

and the third link was a mistake ..I meant to post this nytimes article but now I cant find it ..all I found was the same article but on a different site:

OR what? You'll invade my house? Don't tread on me? You have guns?

Typical American....

In a thread about the death of thousands, horror, terror... you pick out the one thing that insults America :) . Obviously in the context of the post it is referring to the people in power and the people who vote for it, which just happens to be more than half of the people of America. The majority? The majority are dumbasses?

Want to shake the worldwide stereotype? Well you probably don't because you couldn't give a crap what people of countries think. Which is the cause of the problem in the first place! Misunderstanding other countries/cultures and invading like moronic gung-ho idiots.

Ahh well. Go invade Iran now.

hey, ****er, I got 1 thing for you. .!.. that help your statement prosper. If you have a brain you won't post in this. These dumbasses aren't worth the attention they crave from us. If they are too stupid to think that we'd actually attack for no reason... 9/11? North Korea having a new nucklear program? U knowing that the whole other side of the world hates us for no good ****ing reason? Why shouldn't we attack them if it's a threat to national security, you ****ing morons. I'm not gonna raise my blood pressure over this. You all need to be shot.

panama panama-a-a-aah <air giutar>

the US doesnt attack because it's threatened ..it attacks because it's interests are threatened ..there's world of difference

I have a whole whack of examples if you're curious

That's f***ed up. Makes me kind of angry, god knows how the Iraqi's feel about it.

The only reason America doesn't leave Iraq is because of American interests. It's got nothing to do with Iraq, but something to do with Iran. Even the most anti-Saddam Iraqi's must be getting sick of the American presence which is doing nothing but to escalate Iraq's descent into civil war. If it's not in cival war already. What use are American forces in Iraq if they're not going to attempt to do anything to stem the violence? Instead they're going to be held up in some huge fortress?

Talk about an abuse of power, god damn neo-cons and their "You're either with us or we'll invade your country and f*** it up beyond all recognition". American's (the people) are partially to blame! You voted for him for christ's sake.

Funny enough many parties have interest in Iraq being a hellhole. Iran and Al Qaida for instance. Lets not forget Saudi Arabia.
There's some dirty funding going on because Shia's and Sunni's are starting to go at it (whether its stage or not does not matter, its happening).
There have even been calls for Jihads on the Shia's last year by now dead al-Zarqawi and the trend is starting to even more spiral towards civil war.
Though i guess certain industries in the west + the oil Arab sjeiks in the MidEast themselves are clapping their hands and buying more sportcars.

Iraq (and the Middle East for that matter) has been hell on earth way before the US came in and intervened.

And, if you think they were better off than Saddam...well, buddy, you have some problems. Saddam ruled with fear and oppression. Denying that is just as foolish as waving a Mexican flag in front of a goverment institution and saying "Treat me like an American!"

People hate America because they're jealous. It's as simple as that. Oh, you can go into your long wided, bull shit explanations with all this "proof" that ends up going around in circles. But, the truth is simple.

If you don't like the way things are going in American government, do something about it. That's the beauty of it.

People seem to forget that Islamic fascists are a threat to America and the Western world. They want to kill us. It's kill or be killed. There is no diplomacy here.

It's mainly ideology. Certain Islams believe the way the western world operates will corrupt their society. America believes it has to spread democracy throughout the entire world. As long as those two ideologies are constant, there will be no end to the violence and terror. It's not the Islam fascists that are to be feared, what you should fear is what your goverment is doing right now. As long as they continue to invade countries with reasons that don't hold up, there will always be violence and hate towards America. But think about this; the only reason why so many people in so many countries across the world hate America, is because of America itself and nothing else. It's America's actions that determine the world's outlook on America and the American people, not just the country as a whole but individual Americans.

So what you just posted above my post is a clear example of why so many people turn away from America. They just don't care.

U knowing that the whole other side of the world hates us for no good ****ing reason?

Aye, they hate you because they thought it would be funny to.

Judging by your reply, I'd hate you too if I could get such a funny response out of you.

I liked America when Clinton was in power, so it's not America per sae. How can you justify calling a guy out for getting a blow job but Bush can be responsible for thousands of deaths, lie to you the public of America, and be without reproach. How? It's Bush and his administration who are constantly f***ing everything up with the rest of the world. Answer me this, what's worse? Lying about some chick sucking your pee pee or lying about the reasons you've sent your country to war?

And don't pull that "Well, Clinton didn't have 9/11" bullshit. 9/11 has been used as an excuse by the Bush admin for too long. It wasn't 9/11 that's responsible for Iraq today.

Correction, certain Islamic governments, sjeiks and Abdullahs.
Its all about money and power, keeping the public dump, religiously fanatic and hating the West will keep them in line, so they can go around selling oil and buying crap.

CptStern - OMG that link :O :O :O very worrying (anything more recent?) - especially now that Iran has passed the UN deadline and that there are indications that the UN won't apply penalties to Iran.
The thing that annoys me most about the US is their disdain for the UN.

You got to love the debates shady politics spark, hmm? It's a screwed up situation, that's for sure. Unfortunately, I don't have anything intelligent or insightful to add to this debate. So, I shall butt out.

EDIT: Stern listen to "The Empire Strikes First" by Bad Religion. It will soothe the political beast, so to speak.

If the US leaves Iraq now, it'll be turned into a Civil War, sponsored from all over the place: Iranians will sponsor the Sjite uprisings, Saudi Arabia and Al Qaeda will push the Sunni's and the list goes on.
It will be a free-for-all battlefield of Sjites vs Sunni's. A war that has been coming for some time, and now they've finally found their battlefield.
In the end though, global politics and Oil are key, Iran is the strongest Muslim country in the Mideast, it could definatly use a sjite ally, especially one with lotsa oil.
I feel sorry for the Iraqi's, their country is being used as the worlds Nr 1 asshole, to solve stoneage problems, combined with greed.

if it's called george bush it'll be a bit of an appealing target for some crazy.
