"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. Army captain and two sergeants recounted in a Human Rights Watch report on Friday how Iraqi inmates near Falluja were beaten with a baseball bat, stacked clothed in pyramids, deprived of food and water and put in painful positions until they fainted.

The abuse often occurred under orders or with the consent of superior officers, said the captain, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan."

prisonors when ur fighting some one why try to arrest them. Kill them only if they put there ams up and drop there weapons we should arrest them then they should be put sentaced same day.

i dont agree with the killing of ppl who are not trying to kill u but if they are just killing inconcent ppl and they have sined then they should be killed.

So your solution to the prisoner abuse problem is to kill the prisoners before there's any abuse? wow...
 
Its wrong that these things are happening. A true shame. But I hope you don't think it represents the good nature of many other men in the armed forces. Low rank, officer or not, you're going to have awful people that join the military, just like you will ANY group out there, military, civilian, or whatnot. Priests who rape boys? Those ****ers shouldn't of been there in the first place, and are certainly not an accurate representation of religious leaders... and same for this situation.

Sorry... I just hope this thread doesn't degenerate into army bashing on the individual level.

You know this reminds me of that thing, what do you call it? Stern you must know what I'm talking about, this guy took a group of men and ordered them to "torture" a fake prisoner who simulated the pain. The objective was to see how many people would actually follow through orders even if it's morally wrong, just because it's an order. You guys know what I'm talking about?

If they're attacking civilians, then yes, they're scum. However, if they attack armed troops in a fair fight with fair means, they're not. Every occupied country has the right to a resistance force.

That's wonderful. Personally I think 'treat others as you'd like to be treated' - and a hell of a lot of other stuff he supposedly said - is a pretty good rule whether you're religious or not.

They deal with suffering, God is logically impossible, science proves it, the Bible is mythological, God is just an idea made up for us to be good and other stuff that can't be backed up.
