Is Emo bad?

Online, everyone talks about emos with a negetive connotation. Do you think so? And why so?
 
Emo in itself isn't bad. People that think and pretend to be emo are bad.
 
How many Emo fans does it take to change a lightbulb? 5 - one Emo fan to whine that he doesnt have any lightbulbs and the other 4 Emo fans just sit in the corners and cry.
 
If I think Emo, I usually think of someone whos a whigner, not someone who poses for a picture or has black hair. :LOL:
 
Yes, they goddamned do. Emo pisses me off because the whole "my life sucks" attitude is completely obsolete, considering they have the cash to not only purchase a computer, but also buy crappy emo music, clothing and a camera to take shitty pictures of themselves with.

Guess what? With that money, you can go change your life! There's billions of people much less fortunate than them, and I think it's stupid that they can't realise and utilise what they have to actually do something worthwhile.

"my life sucks" isn't neccesary to be emo. And I don't mean emo as in someone who takes a picture of themselves wearing all black. Or even someone who listens to the music genre of emo.

It's no shame to be emotional at all. Emo doesn't really mean that any more though, it means most of the hundreds of idiots that populate certain corners of the web, moaning about their "messed up" lives that they hate.

I don't really have a problem with it, its just a big fad at the moment that will blow over shortly. The people that make fun of it in the stereotypical manner by saying things like ''u wear low trousers ur gay,'' ''go cry emo make a song about it,'' ''go cut urself ur depressing'' annoy me, though. Lets face it, those osrt of things like 'ha ha u sit in corners and write poetry' are about as offencive as the word 'noob'
 
Emo has become like a trend now, everyone is jumping on the "slit my wrists and whine about my perfectly normal life to get attention" bandwagon.

Oh and Emo music sucks the big one :D

I dont think emo should be a negative thing but now that people take deperssion as being "Emo" people will just say "Stop being emo" or something along those lines. So being "Emo" went from an actual meaning to something that has less of an effect and is actually something that is negative now. I am preety sure the fad will only be around for a little while, im sure people will keep dressing emo and all that fun stuff just like punk rockers still dress punk music doesn't really die that easily, except for Folk music ;( <emo tear for Folk music
 
my roommate may be emo. I hear him talk about how terriable his life is, and how nothing ever works and wah wah wah. Yea it must be rough, having parents that care enough to call you every 2 days and then pay for your college and your car. Oh boo hoo.


edit: where's the emo song where the guy is like, "can't 2 or 5 heterosexual men hug and make out with each other without being considered gay?" ...or something like that
 
emo kids, cutting oneself, being a whiney little bitch, and emo music sucks.

having emotions and passion does not.

I didn't say it was offensive. Unfortunatly, some people on some forums I'm on tend to think it is.
 
i have concluded that there s a statistical anomoly.... everyone seems to hate emos.... yet most of the people at my school are emo.... hmm. either everyone is an emo in disguise pretending to hate emos. or im stupid. or both
 
I listen to a lot of emo, I think a good deal of the music is good. But im not all depressed or anything, and I dont know many people who are. My cousin has like 5000+ songs of emo music, and he is far from depressed. In fact, I have never met a "real" emo kid. I dont think this stereotype really exists :rolling:

But I imagine it would be kinda annoying to meet one like that. I thought that was stuff goth people did.
 
Real emo is good. Back in the 80s. That was good emo. Anything on MTV isn't emo. People use the word emo without even realizing it means "emotional hardcore". Sure, they're a few "emotional hardcore" bands around now, but must of em just suck.

You have to factor in the "closet-emos".
 
Emo sucks and they're starting to run out of ideas.
Simple Plan has a song titled "Shut up". Guess what? So does The Black Eyed Peas and Kelly Osbourne.
