Is it me, or does HL2 display a smaller list of maps?

I was just wondering because it seems HL1 has more maps.

I think it might.

But keep in mind these maps are big. Don't worry, there will be plenty of gameplay.

HL1 maps were pretty short...

hoh my crap. yeah i remember hearing awhile back how much bigger the maps will be. i almost creamed myself. what did they say about the load times? are they using better compression like GTA:SA?

Half-Life has ~95 maps, while HL2 seems to have ~75.

Yup. Map = Level, each chapter being made up of a number of them.

See a game is split up into maps, and when you cross into a new one a loading screen will show(not positive for HL2).
HL2 maps are bigger than HL ones and HL2 should be longer and alot bigger and plenty more detailed.

So overall, yes HL has more maps becuz it NEEDS MORE MAPS. With HL2 i believe you could put HL onto 2 - 5 maps(I think anyway). HL2 maps are overall bigger since source supports bigger maps.. So don't think HL2 will be smaller, or anywhere near smaller.
