Is SiN Epsiodes worth buying?

Well, I played through the SP (thanks to UltimaApoc ) and I can honestly say that I loved it. The combat is really, really great. It's worth it in my opinion.

I liked the menu music, and the health pack stuff but everything else was so-so.

The combat was spiffy too, but meh... the original on Source would be astounding.

If you can ignore the slap-assed story, hideous voice acting and repiditive mapping, the gunplay is very fun and poping heads is extremely satisfying.

None of which I even wanted nor have installed or played. And he said it would be $40 for him, so its even worse.

I asked was it worth $40 because I can't get it through Steam (dial-up) and that's what the shops here are charging.

Astounding would be perhaps a tad strong of a word. But then, I thought SiN was marred by poor gameplay and god awful craptastic design decisions.

I went ahead and bought it a couple days ago. Just finished it, and I loved it.

I can see myself playing it again.

Edit: Tried Sin 1 and nearly barfed. The original Doom games were eons better than that.
