I want high resolutions combined with AA and AF and a decent FPS (45+); I'm a total graphics freak-TaNaKa- said:I see many guys trying to upgrade from a ati radeon 9800 to ati radeon x800. That 9800 is like a dream for many people ( for me also ). Why are you guys upgrading to a x800? Are you guys living in the future? I mean that card is for like future games. Maybe you guys want the best, its cool but i think its a bit waste of money to buy that card now. I atleast will be happy when i get my ati radeon 9800 pro.

Well, I guess you mean adding 512mb RAM onto your 256mb, right? So that's 768mb against 1280mb... I'd say that the 768 would handle it absolutely fine, but if you really want to be sure, you could get the extra 512 to make it 1280, or could just get another 768 to make it 1024mb, which is pretty much a standard these days in more powerful computers.sHm0zY said:OOPS SORRY
WOuld 1 gig VS 512mb of ram be much of a difference?

The current game will have been optimised alot more on all cards so I wouldnt worry all that much mate.
Intel17 said:I wish valve put more time into optimizing for nvidia cards because the 9600's can run full detail but a 5900 from the benchmarks, cant.
