That should run it decently. But I'm planning on upgrading to an AMD 64 2800, 1024 MB DDR, and a Geforce 6 6800.

well for one... if your pc can handle far cry.. then your FAR from ready!! I have a freakin celeron 1.3 ghz, 512 ram, radeon 9600 pro and it made far cry CRY for mercy!! lol.. i do plan on upgrading it though... to like a 2.8 ghz.

My system is:

P4 1.6ghz (need to upgrade this), 768mb DDR and Radeon 9800se(the slower cheaper version) thats overclocked and softmodded for more gfx pipelines.

Not an amazing system but its ok, plays Far Cry really nice. Since i favored an ATI card i should have an advantage with HL2. My second rate 9800se can actully out perform a fx5700ultra on HL2.

Radeon 9800se powerful than a GeForce FX5700ultra ??? No way.Valve has tie up with ATI. That's why valve supports ATI and, recommends ATI cards for Half-Life2.

I see many guys trying to upgrade from a ati radeon 9800 to ati radeon x800. That 9800 is like a dream for many people ( for me also ). Why are you guys upgrading to a x800? Are you guys living in the future? I mean that card is for like future games. Maybe you guys want the best, its cool but i think its a bit waste of money to buy that card now. I atleast will be happy when i get my ati radeon 9800 pro.

We have jobs. It doesnt cost alot to upgrade your computer a piece at a time as it starts to lag behind the rest of your system.

People with rubbish computers were the ones holding back mods like day of defeat from super detailed and high res models. Its good to finally see games like UE3 giving games a kick up the ass.
