ITT, we admit the really really geeky things we do.

For example, I play D&D. And not just casually, I have a group of about 5-8 or so friends, and we play usually weekly with most of the rules intact. We even roleplay our character's voices, set up our rooms so that it fits the mood, and put trance music on. Beat THAT.

I think the extent of my geekiness is saying things like "kekekeke zerg rush" and all that shit with one of my friends to excess, while everybody else shakes their heads.

I also nearly started a physical fight with one of my friends when he told me he was a Paladin in World of Warcraft. In my defense, I was drunk and irritable any way.

I totally empathize.

I play on WoW RP servers and occasionally roleplay using specialised chat clients eg JParanoia. That's about the extent of things.

I'm a quite big Warhammer fan, and I collect Fimir. While I'm searching for these out of print miniatures, I concentrate on High Elves.

Also note that this has never actually affected my pulling power. You can have nerdy habits like that without losing your attractiveness - just don't mention the habit until you're comfortable with the person.

Mostly saying things like lol and omg in real life... I even do helicopter actions when I say roflcopter. Apart from that I'm perfectly normal.

I play D&D with 5 of my friends every weekend, no dress ups or mood setting shit though, just D&D

Alright, so sometimes I'll put a dumb ogre voice on when I speak...but that's it really

Heh, we DON'T dress up. That would be below even us. Mood-setting is fun though, it's usually just darkening the room and putting music on, and voila! We have fun too, sometimes we'll change our voices so we sound like Sean Connery, sometimes we'll just make campaigns where we totally mess around, etc.

And yeah, being a big gamer/roleplayer doesn't really affect the fact that I have just as many female friends as guy friends, and I've had girlfriends before. I don't go around advertising these things, but yeah.

I love to read.

Er, that's about it

Reading is a step below gaming in nerdiness IMO. Pretty much everyone I know reads to some extent, so unless you read cheap fantasy books or history textbooks, chances are it's still geekier to be a gamer.

I don't game that much anymore. Geeky things..

Well, I've worked as the following: Someone who sets up wireless networking, computer shop monkey, general techy and I've taught people to use their computers - one man wanted extensive teaching, and despite his age and disablities is now very capable with his laptop :D - that was so rewarding.

Oooh... here's a good one:

My first crush was on Princess Zelda in Ocarina of Time... the young version.

Reading Pierce Anthony is pretty geeky. I stopped reading his books after I realized that to churn out a dozen novels a year he must not be putting very much effort into any of them.

But what if we don't really do geeky things?

I used to be able to name all the actors of star trek, but now I can't, and I don't watch any ST's. I watch the films though, I guess that's slightly geeky. Oh, and I frequent a halflife2 forum and IRC channel.

I don't think I do anything excessively nerdy.. I play games, go to LANs, post on gaming forums.. but that's about it.

I wish I had someone to play D&D with though tbh.. it seems fun, never tried it
And none of the above is nerdy?

Jebus! I'd hate to see your idea of a geek!

Yeah, and "noob" happens to be my favorite word now.

God kill me.

say some words like lol, omg, whatnot is as bad as it gets for me

Debating in the Singleplayer section of this forum is probably the nerdiest thing I do.

I'll study gamedesign and graphics in about a month at Uni. That makes me geeky.

I spend all day mapping or modelling.

Well, I'm not geek. If I still post here, it's not to talk about hardwares, softwares, games, etc. It's mainly to post in the General Off-Topic section or politics.

Just because you're communicating on Internet doesn't make you geek automatically.

Registering on a forum about a computer game does.

I guess we both have different interpretations of what being geek is.

Being proven right on the Singleplayer forums was the nerdiest thing I've done.

Yeah I'm a geek, I post on these forums, love hl2, and used to be in a Jedi Knight Clan. I do a lot of non-geeky stuff, like Snowboard, play football, baseball, run in track, working in a labor industry, and going to college in hawaii. I do a lot more, but lol, I feel secure enough about myself that I won't post. Also I use "lol." :p And smileys.

used to play D&D, have the word "PWN 4G3" for my car's liscense plate, argue on the internet, read 90% of all the classic battletech novels, i go on 4chan.org as well as ytmnd, and go to big nerd conventions and dress up

do win a prize?

There's a difference between being a geek and being a fat chubby virgin who lives in his mom's basement with no social skills whatsoever. Most of my really good friends are "geeks" in the sense that they like roleplaying, video games, forums, etc, but they've also all had girlfriends, jobs, etc.

Oh yeah, and another thing about me: I used to collect Star Wars action figures. I still have them around my room somewhere :p

Then, I guess the only geeky thing that I perform habitually would be posting on one forum, being this one. I rarely play video games (about 30 minutes a week).

I post on forums and know a fair bit about games. Thats about it.

Though I see no reason to be ashamed of being "nerdy"..
