Which player do you prefer? I was considering switching players since my WMP is a bitch to deal with.

I prefer Napster over Itunes. But I use both quite a bit.

I like iTunes. For some reason I can't stand WinAmp, and WMP isn't particularly user-friendly.

I used to be all "go winamp ftw" etc. But then I decided to put all my music on my computer and 40gigs worth is hard to organize - switched to iTunes. Winamp is better for system usage/useage while gaming but itunes is neat. + i bought an ipod so integration is pwn.

Just switched over to iTunes not too long ago thanks to Q_onfused. :)

Lovin' it.

I don't mind WMP 10. Has a nice library feature. Enough to satisfy me. But while playing games, Winamp is da way to go.

itunes all the way, winamp used to be king, but itunes is just so dang easy to use

Winamp is the bomb for using in concert with a shell replacement like blackbox, since you can get a miniature toolbar at the top of the screen and a miniature media bar at the bottom... <3 Winamp, </3 iTunes' resource hogging.

I used to use Winamp, the only thing to use back then. But I started using iTunes and it's much easier to get to the song or group of songs I want to play. It uses a little mores resources but well worth it IMO.

i use winamp for music, wmp for talksport and mpc for realplayer files

i dont listen to music when i game. I like wmp 10, does the job

Whats so hard about that on WMP 10?
All you have to do is double click on a song and the whole playlist is right there for you...

For one song just drag it over.... :|. A group of songs, just drag it over. Whats so damn hard :| about WMP?

<3...

I use iTunes. Personally, I like the look, the feel, and user-friendly-ness, how you can make playlists so quickly. It's just so awesome. I only use Winamp for Internet TV.

The only thing I use iTunes for is to subscribe to a few podcasts (diggnation, systm, TWiT, Security Now, and KFI's Tech Guy... all involving guys from TechTV) so I can get them all from the same place. I only even use it for downloading the podcasts because it came bundled with QuickTime and subscribing to the podcasts through iTunes helps them get up there on the charts.

Other than that, I never touch it. It's garbage. It offers nothing you can't get from somewhere else unless you have an iPod, it's rather inefficient (resource-wise), and it's boring/ugly.

... but if you want to use it I'm not going to try to stop you.

Oh god, I can't play The Specialists without music going, and I have a special playlist I made for it, called "action music". Mostly Led Zeppelin, a few Chilli Peppers songs, a couple AC/DC songs, and one or two Cream songs.

Oh yeah, and I use iTunes. Once you hit over a 50 songs, it can be hard to organize them all.

Well I wasn't really talking about VS wmp but rather winamp. No offense to those who use WMP but I would rather use Winamp before it. Personally I can't stand WMP for use with music.

I also use the smart playlists and partyshuffle a lot in iTunes. With partyshuffle you see the random songs coming before they play, like randomizing a playlist in winamp. Then you can skip over songs or remove them from the playlist. Also features like playing 'most often played' or 'highest rating' are nice.

You are right though, you can manage simple playlists similar to iTunes.

I use iTunes for all my importing, burning, and organizing but I use Foobar 2000 to listen. Extremely frugal with system rescources with a nice minimalistic look to it and lots of options for customization.

Shame on you, using iTunes' shitty encoding for ripping your CD's.

Nothing beats EAC and a good LAME compile.

i like winamp.
i used a few other programs but just ended up coming back to using winamp :)

I use Quintessential player for everything. Added codecs so it plays most video types too. Tis a cracking little media player and it looks and performs great.

woot!
EAC (Exact Audio Copy) and LAME are awesome together.

/me laughs at the popularity of an apple product amongst pc users ..eat crow bitches

The only Apple product that has impressed me is h.264... even though decoding it uses a lot of processing power (look at the system requirements on Apple's site) the quality is still amazing for such small files. It's not quite ready yet, but it has incredible potential.

I have an Audigy 2 ZS which comes with thier own player "Creatice Media Source" and it's better than most players around, but it's only music.
I use winamp for video

I have a Creative Zen Micro so I'm well aware of MediaSource. I can't believe Creative packaged this awesome MP3 player with such a SHITTY program.

lol y is media player classic on there i mean how would anyone use that

I've used WinAmp for many years. Always been happy with it.
But I use MPC for all my vidoes.
giant384, it plays MP3s...

Hey, anybody else loving iTunes v5.0? They fixed the issue of playing songs by the same artist in a row in "Party Shuffle", and they really sexified the layout! You can see more songs onscreen at once now!

I have iTunes installed now. I am loving it at the moment. Works pretty good in my opinion.

windows media player just so ppl can see what im listening to while im on msn

Even ignoring the subject matter (which is an important one)... that's an awesome video.

Winamp + SHOUTcast plugin so people can listen to what I'm listening to (through a link in my AIM profile). :p Well, I used to do that... but I don't anymore... unless I want someone to hear a certain song.

Itunes 5 is nice, even though the interface is ugly now. Meh.

I like that it's more compact.
