For the first time, I could control my dream today!

Was fun, I remember dreaming normally until this one part where I'm in a room with all sorts of people I know, and suddenly I realized I was dreaming, so I could turn around and also I made all the people disappear, but from all the excitement, I woke up :(
Funny thing is, I couldn't move my arms or legs for a few seconds, was cool :)

Have you ever had a lucid dream? Share.

I once had a dream where I was fighting Cyberdemon in HL2. It was cool cause he kicked my ass :E

i have dreams where i can control my character any way i please.... but not other things in the dream... otherwise i'd spawn Christina Aguleria, Britney Spears, and Halley Barry... naked.. :D

I've read a lot into lucid dreaming, although I've never had one recently even though I've tried.

The only lucid dream I remember was a long time ago. In the dream I was running up and down a sidewalk in my neighbord saying "I'm going to be late to class", or something like that. Then I just stopped and said, "Wait a minute, it's Saturday, I don't have any classes". Then I woke up.

edit - Check out this site if you're interested, it provides general information as well as an active forum. Link

yea, lucid dreaming rocks.

As soon as I realise i'm dreaming it's time for some fun ;).

Has anyone ever thought they're having a lucid dream but they're not?

Yeah, I often speak to myself in dream saying "hey, that's not right" and things like that, but I can never take control of it like I did today.

I've never had a lucid dream :( wish I i'd have one sometime...

Yeh , Lucid Dreaming is teh roxxor.. But I have a tendency of going berserk , kicking everything and dragging the clothes off all women the second i realize i'm just dreaming.. Ahh I wish I could lucid dream tonight :naughty:

I hate dreams where your "falling". It feels like it then, bam, you dont know what happened. Dreams where your spooked so badly, you try to yell but nothing happens heh, those suck.

My last lucid dream? I was trying to fly to an extent. I could only jump high and stay up for a few seconds before I floated down. I would keep telling myself, think of the matrix as I heard that helped. Heh, before I woke up last thing I remembered was if I "swam" in mid air I could stay up.

Like 75% of my dreams are lucid.

and, my dreams varies from what I'm thinking on, you know, dreams are a production that your subconsciouss produces from your thoughts.

Like, recently I was thinking about this girl I really really like right before I went to sleep, I dreamt about having sex with her and I could do everything I wanted to, the boring part was when I came in the dream I woke up IRL with a mess XD

Somehow tapping into the lucid dreamstate is one way to achieve perfect VR, if you ask me...

Teh matrix!

that would be sweet though, except a weird side affect would occure where peoples brains would melt and it wouldn't be fun anymore.

Lucid dreams are rare for me. Usually, I can't control anything. It's like a movie, except I'm in it!
Pop a couple Tylenol PM's before bed time (only when your sick!) and damn, those dreams are messed up.

One time I dreamed that...never mind, I can't explain it. to damn wierd

So a lucid dream is where you can control it?
Well..then I had a lot of those...except it always ends up bad:(

Heh, I love lucid dreaming. Happens every couple of months for me. They're really cool.

I used to have those when I was a kid, pretty weird stuff....I don't remember my dreams...I have bad short term memory, thus I won't remember it..

I had one when I was little. It was stormy out at a dark mysterious mansion. All plant like infront of it was dead, kinda like a horror movie. I entered the house and there were these goblin looking things. I started to run down the hall ways are they chased me. Then as I was running I noticed something, I was looking at myself in the third person (thats when you can see yourself pretty much). Once I saw this I instantly knew it was a dream. I turned around no longer afraid and the goblins disappeared. Then I looked up at where I was looking at myself and said, "Hey! Wake up!" I did just that :).

Edit: I've watched videos in Psychology about studies on lucid dreaming. They would hook up people to machines that could tell when you are dreaming. Before these people went to sleep they were told that if you see a red flash that this was a que that they were sleeping. So after they fell asleep they waited until they started dreaming and then they flashed a red light at them very quickly. Once the people woke up they said once they saw that red flash they know that they were dreaming and could control everything that they were doing.

I've had some of those......

This one, I was dreaming that I was in math class in high school, just listning to the teacher talk.
Then I thought....this is really boring...I want to wake up....and then I woke up! :p

Then there was this other one where I was in a really crapy run down town. And I was just like, "I'm gonna leave". So I started to sort of fly, but I could only fly for so long until I would just slowly come back down. So I was going from backyard to backyard trying to get out of this town. And the whole time I kept not being able to go as high up untill it was like I was just sort of jumping high and floating back down. Then I woke up after I couldn't get off the ground anymore.

[edit] Oh man...... Have you ever had a dream where somthing happend to you and you could feel it after you woke up?
I had this happend twice, both at school.
One time I dreampt that a cat had scratched me and it scared me and made me wake up, and I could still feel it on my arm.
Then this other time I dont even remember dreaming, but I remember feeling like I had been electricuted and it made me wake up and I had that feeling you get after you've been electricuted (if you know what that feels like :x )
At any rate...both times I made class almost compleatly stop because I almost jumped out of my seat.
High school sucked[/edit]

lol

I remember once dreaming a pitch black 'screen' and hearing a creepy monsterish voice, then it scratched me on my belly.. I woke up and I could feel it, was scary.

Whenever i realise im dreaming i wake up so well it never get them :(

dunno about lucid dreaming, but dreams on the whole are incredibly rare. infact, i cant even remember the last time i had a dream :(. day dreams on the otherhand :naughty:

I always wake up as soon as I know I am dreaming....

I remember when I played Half-Life 2. It was smooth and I didn't know I was dreaming, it felt so real. :)

But then when I woke up, I thought "Oh, no! It was just a dream..."... :(

Seconded, sex dreams are fun. No jokes :)

Although half the naughty dreams I have involve me 'raping' a girl, then she'll end up enjoying it... christ I read too many H-doujins :dork:

Seconded :) I remember vividly going up to a wall and checking out the bump mapping :D

It was around what seemed to be an abandoned building site, and it was flooded with Combine. I was on the other side of a half-crumbled wall, and it had a window-hole in it, so I strafed across shooting with the PDW, swear I caught sight of some leet ragdolling there too :p

lucid dreaming eh?
well when I was young i had nightmares a lot, till my father told me I could control them if I wanted..
so at around 12 I started lucid dreaming, and I have off and on ever since.

Wicked :) That sounds like something out of a Robin Williams movie... where he'd be the dad, not you :p

I have bad dreams alot, but never nightmares anymore. I count bad dreams as one where the first half hour - an hour after I wake up I feel incredibly depressed and for the life of me can't tell if I'm still in the dream or not. But they're usually not all that bad, and sometimes they're just downright cool, just a case of waking up from something I could never have IRL :)

On a less depressing note, I still remember my worst nightmare from when I was very small. I was walking down the hallway to where my room was (at this stage my room was last door at the end, before we built onto the house), and it was really dark. I opened the door and sitting right in the centre was a goblin, a right feckin ugly EVIL looking thing, playing with my building blocks. When I approached him he turned to me and shrieked the loudest most awful, earsplitting cry, then I woke up feeling absolutely terrified :D But for the life of me, whenever I think of this dream now, I can only smile :)

i have those sorts of dreams all the time :)

Bad^Hat, mine's involve me doing the same, i.e. 'molesting'/'raping' a gilr but it ends up she enjoying it, and the even funnier part is that I've read tons of hentai doujinshis XD(or well not tons, but around 70 :O*PERV*)!

well I have had similar experiences, however replace the goblin with entity (whatever you want to call it, ghost, spectre, spirit) and replace dream, with real life.

yeah that sucked.
:)
thats why not much scares me, I have pretty much seen it all.... and experienced a lot of freaky freaky FREAKY shit ;)

Hmm... I'm getting rather curious here Red... What did you experience that was freaky freaky FREAKY?

Oh, and I never tried that lucid dreaming thing. Heck, I don't even dream that much either...

I suffer from sleep paralysis from time to time where you wake up and cant move... scared the crap out of me the first time it happened but now im used to it

Heh, I've never seen anything supernatural at all, but I know a few people who have. They include spectres yelling in your ear while you're in the shower, one pinching a guest on the bottom when they were exiting the bathroom, and a bloodied paper dart being thrown at someone while he was home alone. Spooky :)

Myself I can't go to bed after midnight without being afraid Sadako is gonna turn up at every corner (damn that movie!!!). If it's not too embarrasing/painful etc please tell of your experiences!

damn!, ive never EVER! had a lucid dream ;(, I wish I can have one soon :D

I can barely ever remember my dreams. if i do remember its like the lamest ones ever like I'm just watching tv or something. I wish I had some lucid dreams, I would go crazy with my imagination ;]

I grew up in South Africa, I have moved around more times than I have been alive....
I have been pushed/shoved/poked/scraped while working/home/public, I have been... err I dont want to say possessed but it was ****ing crazy.

imagine being at home (not alone) in south africa, in a double story house thats ollllld, my sister (who is 2 years older than me) was having weird shit happen in her room (top floor corner of the house)....

at first she got "feelings" like something was in the room watching her... and what was worse she felt it wasnt friendly (to those who havent felt/experienced this it might sound somewhat sappy/movie inspire... its not)

she kinda ignored it (its never EVER a good idea to acknowledge something.. as it only gives it strength), but it still got worse....

at night when she went to bed, she always put her books for school on her dresser (right side of the room) and when she woke in the morning they would always be on the left side of the room.. at first she thought it to just be her imagination.
she told me about it ( we were/are really close we talked about everything, growing up... we have been through a lot together)

anyway, I thought she was just trying to scare me at first... although I did believe her, as I had seen things before that (although saying too much makes me look like a fool looking for attention, Im not)
she asked me to stay the night up with her, and of course I was scared but I did... and we BOTH saw her books open, and fly across the room.

scared shitless I wanted to run through and tell mom and dad, she however didnt want that... I dont really know why...
anyway we left it alone a while and then started the scraping.....
she would wake up hearing a moaning/low tone scream and something like sharp metal nails running and screeching over glass.
that scared her shitless, since there isnt a tree near her window anywhere... (or nowhere even close to the house... it was an old secluded house in the country.. well we had neighbors but we rode our bikes to see them)

we approached our parents, and my father said some prayers in the room and demanded the spirit leave etc... and it did (long story short, -dramatics)

well it left her room anyway, I still heard a lot of footsteps walking behind me (and up and down the stairs) when I was alone.

same house... this is the most ****ed up thing that has ever happened to me...
I was 14 playing around with friends, I ran upstairs and hid in the bathroom....
I heard light tapping ... like something on glass.. I thought "damn I been found" so I stood up and was going to run into the shower ......
thats when I saw my reflection in the mirror...

you know when you think you see something and you do a double take?
thats what it was at first...
in the mirror it was me... but smiling... and as if I were standing Directly in front of it... but I was across the room (getting shivers)
my reflection was smiling... you know that insane smile? all teeth eyes furrowed no emotion, smiling like a serial killer...
and then my skin started to crack open, and blood came out of the sink
.....
I started screaming and I was in front of the mirror... I couldnt close my eyes it was like Two hands were out of the mirror holding me in place I HAVE no ****ing clue how I got there....

****
anywhoo

I really can't get myself to believe what you're saying Red, but I never experienced anything supernatural before anyway. Anyhow, it was good reading. I'm sitting here in my room and getting goosebumps from the last part...

i have never not had a lucid dream.... 99% i have lucid dreams

yeah, its hard to believe... especially this being an internet forum, with no personal attatchment.. its breeding ground for attention seekers and liers.

however Im not trying to convince anyone of anything, thats just one thing thats happened to me.. albeit a really bad one.
recently some other strange stuff happened on a job with my best friend.
however I have done my sharing for today, and I dont really feel like discussing it.

as I said when we had a supernatural thread before... just dont acknowledge them, and never discuss them.
and in no way am I superstitious

Same Champ, I do study psinoics but what you're talking about seems a bit to unbelieveable.:)

Not scientifically explained as psinoics are becomming so.
