microbevel those sharp edges this instant! :)

the depth in the engraving on the blade is too deep. The guard needs smoothing and maybe not as deep, perhaps adding a rim around the edges of the dragon shape.. Depending on how much detail your planning, you might want to fix the area around the shoulder. removing a snug area on the guard might do the trick. It should look like the blade continues on into the hilt, the tang i think that part of the blade is called.. I dunno, been a while since I was big on swords.

Course if its a game model you can probably disregard some of those suggestions.. and some of the things might be possible with normal maps.. the engraving on the blade you can do with a bump map, no need to model that, wouldn't model that for a highpoly version either

hmmmm, u have made some stupid choices when adding 3d text on the side when its not even needed and will look better with a simple texture. Unless u are hoping that hl2 has doom3 lighting. Also your tsuba is totally wrong, its nothing like a japanese sword, I would do more research.

looks nice but needs quite abit of work, i agree that the symbol is ingraved to deep on the blade, and hand gaurd could use alot of work. but gr8 start. :bounce:

judging by the bend of the blade the tip is wrong, should be the other way around.
