John Carmack vrs Gabe Newell

Gabe Newell doesn't code whole engines by himself, however I don't know either person. So i'm not voting.

John Carmack did a ****ing good job with the Doom3's engine.
And Gabe is so friendly, close to his fans, and his part of the Valve team !! :x

I think I would vote John Carmack
 
I thought this was going to be a "whod win in a fight" thing.

Both have their strong points.

Gabe is more close to fans and more helpful, and he's more of a team player.

John is more private, powerful programmer, and more of a independent.
 
Gabe: Seems like a nice guy, he really care about his games, and all the people around them, even us, the fans.

This is like having a poll on which console is better, The PS2 or the Xbox.

In a PS2 Forum it will lean towards the PS2.
In a Xbox forum it will lean towards the Xbox.

Ask the same question in a Doom 3 forum, see what you will get.

John Carmack also runs and owns Armidillo Aerospace, so he would win.
 
I think John would run around in circles until Gabe gets tired and collapses, then he would slowly beat him to death.

im not a D3 fan boy, but frankly, CARMACK IS GOD. without him who knows, there might not be such a thing as FPS games.

Newell is involved with the community, he wins this one.

The thing I dont like about Carmack is he thinks all the vital things in a game are just Gimmicks. Though, hes one hell of a coder...
 
Equal, they would play doom3 and hl2 and john would win at doom and gabe would win at hl2, like they would actually physically fight, omg.

Half-life, i played, i loved, and still playing it.
